Hi,
If you travel overseas and you are past 26 weeks in your pregnancy and anything at all goes wrong - ie you have any complications at all or go into premature labour or give birth overseas your medical aid - nomatter who it is - in South Africa will not cover any medical costs at all so you will have to pay in whichever currency all the hospital bills etc.
In most other countries they cover up until 28 weeks and you can get travel insurance for preganancy incase anything does go wrong at all, but in SA it's 26 weeks, and your medical aid will then not take any responsibility for anything that goes wrong - SO for those of you wanting to book trips, just make sure you get back to SA before the 26th Week so you are insured as its a massive risk!!!
