Good Gynae's in the East Rand

Hey, wich Dr are you seeing at Morningside Mediclinic. I was there with in 2009 with the birth of our son and was very happy with the Dr and the service of the Hospital.

I did a bit of research on my own, and found out that the doctors on the East are a bit more expensive. My medical aid only covers me for selected Hospitals(Discovery Delta), so I needed to look at gynae's within that network, as I dont want to be changing gyane's. Morningside Mediclinic is part of it, so I decided to give a few gyane's a call. They charge much less than Dr Brune, whom I also called. So I guess I'm gonna go with Morningside, even though its out of my way, I work in Sandton, so it would be convenient for my appointements, just the actual birth will be a bit of a hiccup, but will deal with that when the time comes.

Also would like to know if anyone can reccomend Dr Hylton Sevitz, I heard a few good things from about him from 2 collegues at work, but would love to hear from the rest of you ladies:)

I had my 1st LG with Dr Aikmann, ok (I guess, luckily an easy delivery and I knew and said what I WANTED). But after changing Dr's when we were back in Pretoria, I don't think I would go back to him. I have heard better things about Dr Brune. I know of a few natural deliveries with him too. the Arwyp was ok, again, compared to my 2nd delivery (which was complicated and ended up in emergency), there are better hospitals.

Good luck! May be worth your while to travel a bit? Genesis would be my first choice if i had it over!

I will definately try Dr Brune....although I would ultimately like to go to Genesis, I dont know if my medical aid will cover. I just need a doc for now until I can confirm with Genesis.

I also used doctor Brune in Kepmton. his offices are in Van riebeeck park - he is awesome. Not once did he riducule us or treat us any differently when we knew we were expecting a trisomy baby and decided to keep our son. He respected our wishes and treated us the same way he did with my previous pregnancies.

A really compassionate person

If you would like a natural birth you should try Genesis clinic in Joburg.
I'm not sure where they're based but they are highly regarded.
Then you can just see a gynae for a couple of scans and go for your 12 and 24 week fetal anomoly scans with a specialist.
