Hi Schatsie...

I am seeing Dr Newhm now, and I am very pleased with him. am so sorry that you had such a horrible experience, and I know how that must have made you feel!

I have just finished my first cycle of Clomid, and am now DPO. Stuck in the 2WW, and its driving me crazy lol.

I am just praying for a miracle, and hoping this journey is not a futile one!

It's so nice to hear that you finally got your FP after 2.5 years of TTC - shows the rest of us ladies that there is hope!

I don't know Dr Newham, but I see someone mentioned Vincent Palotti. Whatever you do PLEASE do not go to Dr Thinus Kruger at Vincent Palotti!! He is supposed to be a fertitlity expert, but I went to him and he was the RUDEST, most insensitive pig I have ever come across. He basically told me I would never fall pregnant, so after leaving there I was completely despondent and gave up all hope and stopped trying. Then 3 months later I fell pregnant naturally!

PS: You mention that you heard that if you don't fall pregnant after a year of being off contraceptives you are infertile. That is not necessarily the case - you might just be trying at the wrong times, etc., so all it really means is that it is time to see a fertility expert (not just any gynae) and get some help, possibly something like Clmoid/injections, etc..

Feel free to inbox me if you have any questions - I went through 2.5 years of actively TTC, Clomid, AI, etc..

Morning Stef...

I must agree with you - He is a darling. I wasn't as undercover when looking for a gynae, but I did try and find out about him first! Checked forums online, and also read up on work he has done.
He actually laughed at me when he asked how I found him / who was it that recommended him, and I told him I "researched" him
He was very thorough and calm! I'm sure he would be very nice to have around in the birthing Unit - he has this serene and cool aura about him... as though there is nothing that can startle or trouble him. He made me feel very comfy, and relaxed!

Thanks for the advice!

and CONGRATS on your BFP! Let us know how it all goes!

Dr.Newham is a wonderful OB, I am so glad I went with him.
I am due on 10th May,and I must say, he has this sense of calm about him which I love and he is super thorough.

I called the maternity ward at Kingsbury before I decided on a gynae. I wanted the opinion of the attending staff. I called twice and spoke to 2 different nurses/sisters, and they both recommended Dr.Newham as their first choice.

Very good decision.

He is a specialist OB, and he does deal with infertility issues.
You're in good hands, really.

Hi Ladies....

Just to keep you guys updated... Dr Newham @ kingsbury was the BEST!
He made me feel very comfortable, and he was so very sweet!

I think I made a good choice - he specialises in infertility / ovarian cyst issues, and seemed to ake my problems in his stride! I will def recommend him

 wow - i have PCOS too! this is most of the reason many of the female docs I went to assume my situation of "infertility".
I basically need the help for management of PCOS so that I am able to fall pregnant naturally.

I hear INOFOLIC is a good supplement... has anyone ever tried / used it?

On on of the forums I read (can't remember which seeing as they've been so many...) Dr Newham has conducted many succesfull IUI and IVF's so, if need be, then he is aware of how to deal with that kind of stuff

Thanks for giving me the heads up on Dr Dumbrill.... I was almost going to cancel my appt with Newham this morning and change to Dumbrill!

Don't go to Dumbril. He's a lovely doc and great when you are already pregnant but completely disinterested in the fertility side. I have a friend with pcos with him now that is battling.

Go to Newman - he will recommend a specialist of nec and then you could move to Cape Fertility Clinic next to Kingsbury
