Dr Wynand Truter

Hi all mommies

I was with Dr Truter with the birth of my son almost 2 years ago, he is still me gynie and I am planning on having my second baby with him as my gynie too. I did have a C-section, recovery period really short and I never had any complications whatsoever. After 3 days I walked out of the hospital easily!!!!

At his appointments he does an ultrasound every time and he does really like the other moms said makes you and your husband feel comfortable and you can ask him anything.

I know he is not pro natural birth or pro c-section, but surgery is his passion.

You will not go wrong with him, he is really good and Durbanvill Medi Clinic's maternity ward is so small and cozy and the rooms are quite big!!

I'm with Dr Truter currently at 30wks pregnant. Yes, he does a sonar at every apt. You can bring a DVD with you and he records the entire thing onto your dvd. So you always have something to look at afterwards
He is fantastic and makes you feel so comfortable. Always joking around but still nurturing. Listens to all our questions and spends loads of time with us at every apt.

He was just at a surgical convention in France, so I'm sure hes surgical skills are top notch. I'm hoping that he won't need it on me as I'm hoping and praying for all natural birth. a Friend of mine had a C-sec with him and was very happy. Short recovery period!

I saw him in 2010 and 2011 (2 different pregnancies).

Yes, he does do ultrasounds and every visit, and you can usually count on going at least once a month on average.

I didn't have a c-section so can't comment on that, but his passion is surgery so I'm sure he would be very good.

Can someone please answer the following questions:
Did he perform a sonar with every prenatal visit?
Those who have had c-sections, are you happy with the results?

His PA just takes time to get used to.

When we started going to him i also really did not like her at all. Very cold almost, and hard, and just not friendly in the slightest.

But after going a few times, and the more we got to 'know' her, she really really warmed up and now i really really like her. Seems to just take a while for her to 'thaw' to new people. Doesn't seem possible upon first meeting her, but she really is actually very sweet once she gets to know you.

Im also with dr truter! Have been to him twice and starting my fertility journey with him. Strarting on fertomid tomorrow and seeing him for a scan next week. Very relaxed and nice guy. Makes you feel comfortable. Only problem is his PA. She is not friendly at all! Very difficult to deal with, but he is a sweetheart!

I am also with him. Excellent doctor with exquisite bedside manners.
My husband also really likes him, and he does not like doctors
