My son also had the pinkish birth marks on the back of his neck and head - they called angels kisses. By the time he was a year old they had disapeared.

I would say if it really bothers you - take him to the Dr - but your traditional healer is really wrong by saying the baby will die.

My daughter had the marks, she is 26months now and they have completely faded. We never had any health problems with her.

My son (6 months)also has the marks but I am not worried at all.

Like michellejvv said they are just birth marks. So many people also told me exactly what they said to you about the baby dying but noone could really explain to me how it would make a baby die.

Are the red marks at the back of the neck, at the base of baby's skull? like in the picture below? if so, these are called "stork bites" or more formally nevus simplex. they are a type of birth mark that fades within a year or two. My Rebecca has it and she is perfectly healthy, no hassles what so ever. But if you're really concerned, then rather have baby's doctor or paedetrician have a look at it.

I am in desperate need of help/advice. I have a 4 month old baby boy, he has a reddish/pinkish patch on his neck, at 1st I didn't take it seriously because I had no idea what it was until people started telling me about it, they say it's very dangerous to the baby and he could die and I shoud take him to a traditional healer they told me about the signs and they do correspond to this actions but I do not believed in traditional healing. I am scared of this whole traditional healing stuff... Just wondering if there are moms out there that have experienced the same thing? I am really concerned
