Morning,

My doc recommended taking my vits at night which helped me. I only too Folic Acid until 12 weeks thereafter I was on PregOmega Plus as I am lactose intolerant so need the extra calcium.

Usually its the iron that makes u feel nauseous, so try one with less iron or a slow release vit.

I had my first appt about a week after my positive bloods. But I had had a MC and was spotting so she saw me every second week til 12 weeks.

Thank you ladies for all the comments. I stopped the vitamins all together just take my folic acid now.

Will ask the doc to recommend something when I eventually get to go for my first check up.

Was just wondering did anyone ells also have to wait so long to get an appointment for the first check up? They could only help me on the 29th of Jan and I made the appointment end of November.

My gynae told me vitamins in the first tri just make expensive urine. They're really not necessary.
Only folic acid is necessary so as long as you can manage that everything should be fine.

Perhaps try a preggie shake if you can't keep the vitamins down - i'm sure those also have numerous vits in them.

Hi AneldaSnyman,

My dr told me that it is very common for women to get nauseas from vitamins especially the first trimester. He told me to stop drinking it untill the second trimester and try again later. He said I could try a pregnancy shake if that doesn't make me feel sick either. The other thing you could do is try kids chewable multivitamin tablets.
I could only stomach chewable folic acid tablets in the first trimester and that is the most important vitamin in any case.

Hi there

I'm in the TWW but already on vitamins.

I bought Pregnacare. It's made by a UK company and it says take after food but I feel fine even if I just have a bite of a fruit and a glass of juice

Hi Ladies,

Can any one recommend Vitamins and supplements to use during pregnancy I have tried the "mom2b range" as well as "pregavites" but I get very sick shortly after taking them I have tried to take it early morning, at lunch time and at night but it just doesn't seem to work with me...if I dare take either the mom2be or the pregavites I get so sick I have to stay by the loo for the next 3 to 4 hours and unfortunately I am a working mommy that has to go to work every day accept Sunday and therefore I cant stay home and cant sleep next to the loo if you get what i mean.

Any suggestions???
