i am pleased to announce that on the january 29th our doctor confirmed that we are having girls

we will be proud to be the parents of Nikita & Trinity Naicker
EDD 14 JULY 2013 (but we have been warned to expect them to come a little bit earlier like most twins do )

i am doing well health wise except for the mild kidney infection i had a week ago...but the girls are fine.

Doctor said they are at the same weight and they have enough amniotic fluid each all in all we are doing well (they are moving now...meaning they know im talking about them lol)

Wow Monique,I am glad you are declaring health and life upon your babies may the Almighty God grant you all your heart desires and I am so excited for you. There are many identical twins born without hassles and your will be too.Have you thought of names yet,Do you know the gender?

SO FAR ALL IS GOOD WITH THE PREGNANCY THUS FAR. DOCTORS CONFIRMED MY MULTIPLE PREGNANCY IS MONOCHORIONIC-DIAMNIOTIC MEANING MY TWINS EACH HAVE THEIR OWN AMNIOTIC SAC BUT ARE SHARING A PLACENTA. THEY ARE ALSO MONOZYGOTIC MEANING THEY ARE IDENTICAL.

I AM GREATFUL FOR MY DOUBLE BLESSING BUT I HAVE A LITTLE FEAR BECAUSE WHEN TWINS SHARE A PLACENTA THERE IS A 20% CHANCE OF THEM CONTRACTING TTTS (TWIN-TO-TWIN-TRANSFUSION). THIS IS WHEN ONE TWIN GETS MORE BLOOD SUPPLY THAN THE OTHER. IF IT REMAINS UNTREATED WITHIN THE FIRST 20 WEEKS OF PREGNANCY IT CAN RESULT IN M/C.

I AM ALMOST 16 WEEKS PREGNANT AND NEXT FRIDAY (01.02.2013)I HAVE AN ANTENATAL APPOINTMENT WHICH WOULD BE VERY IMPORTANT AS BETWEEN THE GESTATIONAL AGE OF 16- 20 WEEKS TTTS CAN BE DETECTED AND CORRECTED WITH FETOSCOPIC LASER COAGULATION.

BUT MY FAITH IS STRONG AND I KNOW MY BABIES WILL BE BORN HEALTHY AND PERFECT IN MY EYES.
