Hi Angelique

Congrats with your pregnancy!

I had blood in my urine in my 2nd trimester with my 1st pregnancy. It can be due to a kidney infection, bladder infection, kidney stone etc.... In my case, it was because baby was pressing on my kidneys and my urine couldn' t pass through properly. I had to get stents in to rekieve that pressure.

Gynae also explained that any infection is dangerous to bith baby and mom and that it can cause pre term labour cause the infection can go into the amniotic fluid.

The antibiotics is there to keep infection under control and to protect baby. Even if you have thrush or bacterial infection down there and give normal birth, doc will give antiobiotics so that baby doesn't get infected.

Did you get your results?

At 29 weeks I saw my gynaecologist for the first time.

She found blood in my urine and said it could be an infection and sent it away.

She then spoke about infections can cause the baby not to breathe at birth and me maybe having to go onto anti-biotics when i am in labour... She was very vague... have you girls hear of anything like this before?
