Gynae search

Firstly Congratulations!!!!

Yes i am going to her and she has been absolutely wonderful. I almost lost the baby at 12 weeks but she was very quick in finding the problem and fixing it before we could lose my girl. I'm due in two months time and if i ever considered another child, i would go back to her.
She's also alot more reasonable on her price in comparison to the other gynae's and the girls in her rooms are very accomodating.

Thats a very good price. i believe nushifa hospital also charges around the medical aid rates. My cousin wasnt on medical aid and gave birth there - i went to the hospital - its extremely clean. i was shocked how clean it was. i think that gynae - dr muhammed that i mentioned also delivers at nushifa hospital.

thanks a mill for the advise. Just got off the phone with the doc and got my benefits from my medical aid. i have alot of reading to do tonight and you right about the over and above fees. Just spoke to Dr Pillays rooms in Ethekwini and he charges R850 for the first consult, R450 to book the bed at the hospital and R3600 in your 36th week just for delivery.

Im from durban - i had the same tough decision over a month ago on who to choose.

I went with Dr Strang from Hillcrest, heard he was one of the best and my sister has been going to him for years. So booked an appointment still not knowing who i want to go to and landed up deciding to stay with him after my visit.

Im not sure about pather but ive heard about lots of good gynae's at westville - almost all of the people i know went there.

The only thing i can suggest is do a bit of research. also find out how much they charge for birth as most medical aids only pay about half of the birth - thats the case with my medical aid and im on a good medical aid. unfortunately most gynaes charge way over the medical aid rates. Thats if how much you have to payout your own pocket makes a difference to you or not. And even try go for an appointment and see how comfortable you are with the person.

I was also concidering Dr Naseera Mohammed at westville. From the reasearch i did she is well recommended. as well as Dr Payne at westville. if you can go look at the durban moms forum topic.
