Sam sorry to hear the prognosis is not good.

It is good to keep faith and know that you will be equiped to handle whatever.

I know a lady whose baby was born and at six months the paed picked up somethings wrong. After scans they confirm he had only half a brain. He reaches milestones a little slower and they had lots of fisio etc done. But he is a happy little boy and brings lots of love to the family. His parents waited 10 years for him and his little brother is about 2 years after him. They would not give him up for a world of healthy kids.

good luck with al. Praying for a miracle with you

Hi FirstforSam!

Im not sure what it means that there is fluid on the brain...
But Atleast the baby's head is growing right?
And it is true that babies develop differently in different ways.
Please shake off the guilt that is trying to overwhelm you, you want the best for your baby, and you already are (and will be) an amazing mommy to this little one.

I really pray for wisdom for you and dh in the decision you need to make, and I pray that you will experience peace instead of fear.
I remember in my first pregnancy our gynea sent us for a scan because they were really worried about something that they saw (cant even remember what it was), and made such a big deal out of it and really scared me in the process. In the end it was nothing. I know they should always be safe rather than sorry, but I also know that many times they make things sound worse than they actually are, especially for first time mommies. Its really intimidating and scary sometimes. But stay strong, find your rest and comfort in the truth and not in negative possibilities. Im not trying to make light of the situation at all, just want to encourage you to not fear and stand strong and not blame yourself at all x

1st pregnancy - We had a natural birth at home with our midwife. It was a dream come true!

2nd pregnancy - 2012 Miscarriage at 12 weeks (blighted ovum)

3rd pregnancy - 2012 Miscarriage at 7 weeks

4th pregnancy - 2013 Twins Miscarriage at 6 weeks 4 days

3 Sept 2014 - Saw and heard our little heartbeat.

Hi ladies

So I went yesterday and as it turns out my LO's head is measuring smaller (its growing, but not at the same rate as the rest of the body) for 29 weeks and to add to that he/she has fluid on the brain :(

I feel so heartbroken and so responsible - like did I do something to cause it? Did I hurt my baby in some way? Did I eat something wrong? The doc said that it was none of the above, but it feels like my whole world has been shattered.

I am trying to stay positive, and praying for a miracle and for my baby to grow nicely. Words cannot describe the fear I feel.

We now have to go back in 2 weeks and give an answer as to whether to do the amniocentesis or not. For my husband and I, whatever we do decide to do, there is no question that we are gonna see this pregnancy through no matter what. Every child is a gift from God and we have to believe that He wont give us anything we cannot handle.

I just need to get over this shock and heartache, and start pulling myself together so I can be strong for baby. I just want my baby to be ok and to meet him/her.

Please keep us in your prayers

Hi 1st4sam,
Sorry but your doctor sounds a bit like an idiot not explaining the detail / posibilities / risks to you (they SHOULD!).
Try to relax. Every baby develops differently - both of my babies' heads were "apparently" 2 weeks bigger than average and they are just fine! I hope your 2 weeks of waiting flies by!

Thank u for it words of motivation and reminder, Lagogies. My husband also reiterated those similar words to me. Whatever happens I just have to trust, is God's Will and try to stay positive and keep the faith...

Sam I haven't been through anything like this, but keep hope. Some babies jus genetically have a small or big head. There is many stories like yours with positive outcomes. Your little bean needs you to stay calm. The fact that your doctor picked it up means your in good hands.

God will give you strength for what comes your way. Just trust Him
