Unfortunately I don't have all those links anymore. I did my research about 6 months ago and found many helpful sites. South Africa is soooooo far behind with child vehicle safety. There are quite a few swedish sites that are really good. And on facebook there is UK&Europe sites with trained technicians that have sent me a lot of the information. What is clear is that most of the seats we get in our shops have passed only the very basic tests - i.e. head on collision at 60 km/h. What happens at 100km/h or in case of side on collision, no one knows....And then there are the seats that are tested for these, and passed these tests, of which only a handful is available here in SA. I have also read a really good document about small mistakes people make when installing the seats which was extremely informative.

Do you perhaps have links to the safety tests? This is an interesting topic and I'd like to see what is recommended by independent testing!

But as newborns they are most vulnerable...? You get seats that goes from 0 -25 kg. That will last a long time. And they have passed more that just the "head on crash at 60km per hour" test. I prefer seats with proper side protection as well, since not all crashes are head on at 60km per hour. Some interesting crash tests on you tube that shows you what happens with your babies neck (and the very heavy head) when you are in a crash.

i bought the nania one and have no complaints. i think for a newborn its fine as they grow so fast in that phase, once they get a little older you could invest in a more expensive one that your child can use for longer

imi, I was referring to real safety crash tests, not other people's experience or opinions...Nania is cheap/really affordable for a reason, and suitable for SA where the only law is - if you have a carseat in the car you must use it... My sister in law has Nania for her three kids (because they were cheap), but she rarely has yhr kids in the car with her. I commute with my LO every day, so using I would rather buy the best I can afford.

Eish Haffie, this is really confusing, I ask myself why is Discovery Health giving us these discount vouchers for Nania brand? I did my own research via the net, and i was still confused, because it ws a 50% happy 50% not happy...and Kelli( see above) she is talking frm experience...:/
