Natural or C-Sec?

mama2B, I'm 15 weeks now. I'm also at Femina and was strongly considering the midwives if I had a singleton again. With the twins I think it might be safer to stick to the gynae!
What I've heard about the midwifes there is really good. I've contacted Midwives exclusive to get more info and was really excited.
They work from Femina as well!!

I definitely agree Antz08.... Can't imagine why anyone would CHOOSE to be cut open, the thought of it makes me want to run away Lol

I am doing a lot of research into a midwife assisted water birth, it seems very appealing to me and not as cold and clinical as a hospital environment.

Going to see the facility at Femina on Saturday and find out a bit more about what it's all about.

I too had two natural births with no epidural and was the best decision ever...

Hantie is right, the benefits of natural birth outweigh any benefit an elective c-section may have... Please note that i am only referring to elective C's... The bonding experience is so much better... The recovery is amazing - i was bathed and walking around 2hours after they were born...

Why would you choose to have yourself cut? And then have to heal while looking after a newborn baby... can you imagine the pain?? One cant even cough properly after they have cut you and you are still expected to look after a newborn?!!/

Think it through carefully! Your body was made to do this! And it can - give it a chance...

I also had a natural birth 2 years ago without an epidural and I would do it again anytime!!
There is just so much benefits for your baby and yourself that I'm really a strong advocate. Obviously there are times when a c-section has its place but if everything is normal and that is what you want go for it and fight for it if need be.

I'm now pregnant with twins and really hoping my Dr is up for the challenge of a natural birth if everything is fine. It seems to me most Drs just go for c-sections with twins!!!

I had a C-section 8months ago and it was elective... I had a really bad phobia for the pain i may experience during natural birth and chose to have a C-Section but....now that i have been through the C-Section i will never do it again.

My next delivery will defenitley be a Natural birth. For me i felt a C-section was too clinical, i never gave my baby the chance to chose his own entrance to this world and i never allowed my body to be ready for birth.

i want the experience and joy of knowing i contributed to his birth more than just an incubator for 38weeks.

This is just my story and reasons...other mums may feel that a C-section is the right choice for them. Its an individual choice.

Overall I just felt better after my vaginal birth, than with the elective c section. I would go vaginal again. People seem to think you are nuts if you want to birth vaginally though.
