What to take for sore throat during pregnancy?

It has gotten a bit worse, so I have called my OBGYN. He told me Iliadin is safe for a congested nose, Expegen (sp?) for cough, Panado for fever and MediKeel for sore throat.

Hoping I will get some sleep tonight!

Not sure which trimester you are in at the moment.

Gargling with hot water and salt helps... but if you need something stronger I was told by my GP that I could use the Andolex-C throat spray (which I did during my 2nd trimester) It tastes horrible, but works like a bomb.

You can get it from your nearest pharmacy.

Also, sucking on Halls helps (I like the honey and lemon flavoured ones)

Hi Karmie, sorry to hear that you are sick

When I was pregnant with my first I think I got rescue tablets for sore throat. You can ask at any dischem at homeopathic counter for pregnancy safe things to take. Im not sure but I think the viral vuard throat spray which works very well might also be sfae, but please just make sure... good luck!

I have developed a sore throat and a bit of a nasal drip/runny nose

Luckily it seems like a head cold only, no fever or coughing yet.

Can any of you recommend something to take for this that is safe during pregnancy?
