Hi SJT

My Friend used Dr Sagie Naidoo @ St Augustines, I don't know anyone who delivered twins but they all say any gynae you choose will suffice and if any complications or suspected problems then only will they refer to a foetal specialist.

Family who have had babies at St augustines also highly recommend Dr Nirmala Pather (female gynae) they say she charges medical aid rates.

In Netcare only foetal specialist I could find is Dr Bhorat, he did our foetal assessment at 13 weeks, charged R2200, only if you use him as your designated gynae for all visits then he discounts the rate.

hope this helps.

Thank you so much.

I live in the south, i am planning to deliver at St Augustines. the only problem is that most gynae's dont charge scheme rate so its leaving me with quite a bill to fit at the end of the day.

I know that i should just close my eyes and pay it for the sake of the health of my twins but i am just trying to see if there is a gynae who can assist with multiple births and does charge scheme rate.

Calling around has got me nowhere, so i thought i would as other mom's

Congrats SJT!!!

How far along are you? And where in DBN?

Took me a long time to find a gynae I would try (and only having a singleton), I using Umhlanga hospital, most gynaes can assist with multiple births however they generally send you to a foetal specialist 2-3 times in your pregnancy to make sure both babies are developing well, etc.

I can suggest other gynaes if you can confirm which area or hospital you plan to use.

At Umhlanga I am currently using Dr Vino Naicker (excellent Female gynae) so happy with and all her other patients love her also and she is reasonably priced. The foetal specialist she recommends for complicated pregnancies or multiples for those 2-3 visits is Dr Bhorat, also in Umhlanga, he is an excellent but expensive, I suppose though he has to be with the detail he covers and shows you.

Let me know maybe can give you other gynae's in other areas.
