Sorry I realise now this is entirely the wrong board for this post. I apologise and will repost on Miscarriage, Stillborn and Loss.

Tx.

Hi fellow Moomies,

I had my first scan this past Tuesday, at just over ten weeks. The doctor told us the fetus had stopped growing at 6 weeks 5 days.

I'm having a D&E done in the morning. I'm really nervous as I've never had one. I haven't even had general anesthetic since having my tonsils out at age seven. I'm going to the hospital at 5:30 and my theater time is 8:30. I'm slightly terrified at what to expect in those three hours.
The doctor told me to take the three Cytotec's when I get up tomorrow morning, after which I might start having contractions and dilating. I had a really fast labour when I had my daughter, I'm so scared of dilating too fast and things not going to plan. Does anyone have any experience with this they could share? I asked a friend who has had one and she just said that apparently they fill you up with air so they can see inside and then you're really uncomfortable afterwards.
I also don't know what to expect when everything is over. What do I even take with me to the hospital?!

Anyone who can share a few stories and put my mind at ease, please feel free. I'm really scared.

Thanks,
Karin.
