Hi

I have given birth twice at Panorama, but via C-Section, so I cannot tell you if the experience would be different for natural birth.

I am with Dr Tobie De Villiers, he such a professional! So calm and no-nonsense.

My experience at Panorama was good, I felt that both baby and I were well cared for. The nurses are very helpful and sweet.

Best of luck for your decision

Durbanville is not as busy as Panorama, so I think the overall experience in the maternity ward will be good for that all-important initial bonding. Dr Truter is my gynae and he's great. My husband likes him because he explains everything clearly and answers even the simplest questions without making you feel stupid.

I'm with Dr Truter and have given birth at DMC. He is a really lovely man, and I found the maternity ward and the nurses to be really fantastic.

I need to decide on which hospital and gynie I will use.

Durbanville medi clinic is closer to home and I have a referral letter from my GP for Dr Wynand Truter. A good friend has suggested Dr Venter at Panorama so I want to do a little bit of research before I decide.

Can anyone comment on the maternity wards at these hospitals? What are the nurses like, do they respect your wishes? I am very keen on having a natural birth if all goes well. I have even considered home birth but I'm a bit scared as it will be our first.
