JennB - Welcome to team BLUE yeah. My EDD is also 21 March. We have picked a name for our little one and out of the blue the one day at McDonald's the cashier said to me it's a boy before we even knew and she called him Teboho meaning gratitude so our baby will have an african name as well.

GML - I love the name Karabo

nunuza - I just hate people like that

AFM things are not as smooth as I would like it to be. Went to the Maternity ward yesterday after the office sent me home they thought I was in labor. They hooked me up on the machines to see if I am having contractions. I was in there for 2 hours on machines, they took blood and urine and thank God everything is ok baby moved to the left side and his weight etc is on my nerves so he is causing the pain. Dr joked and said to my hubby baby is bullying me. Today I am still in pain but not as much as yesterday.

Taking of names we haven't decided and will not until we see her and we'll know. But we do talk about names.

Nunuza- Omphile is a beautiful name. We are definitely staying away from names starting with an O. All our friends kids have names starting with an O and we forgot their names especially because they are all the around the same age!

I'm thinking something simple like Karabo but more creative than that. Any suggestions are welcome...

I'm sitting at the dentist waiting to have my teeth washed. I hope I won't get anymore pain

My daughter gave her lil sister a name Omphile meaning god gave her someone to play with. she says she has been lonely for such long time. So Ndebele name for this one hope my inlaws will understand but hubby doesnt have a problem

Hi Ladies

Sorry I've been a abut quiet, but life gets hectic sometimes!

I've been catching up on all the posts and am so happy to see everyone's pregnancies are progressing nicely.

On my side things have been relatively smooth sailing. I'm beginning to experience the odd dizzy spell, and tend to get some cramps in my hips at night from laying on my side. Dr prescribed some Calcium for the ache in the bones. I've considered buying a preggy pillow but many of my friends have said that they hardly used theirs, so I'm reluctant to get one if chances are I'm just going to end up not using it. I would rather spend the money on something the baby needs.

As for our little nunu bug... it's a BOY!!! So that's another one for Team Blue! (whoop! whoop!)
My due date - which I initially thought was 10 March - has changed to 21 March (apparently I wasn't as far along as i thought). Would be awesome to have our son celebrate his birthday on a public holiday every year, but I'm told babies hardly ever arrive on the EDD.

I got a bit carried away with shopping for baby clothes ...everything is so adorable that you can't resist! We've also bought the travel system and other essential items so far. Still need a cot and compactum though, but leaving that till a bit later. We still have some time. It was the baby expo in Cape Town two weeks ago, and it was worthwhile to go as they had show discounts on all the baby products. We got our travel system at a discount of nearly R800!

I'm always getting the "you're carrying small" comment. It's really beginning to annoy me! It's my first pregnancy and I worry about the tiniest thing. But Dr said baby is growing nicely, weighs about 426g and is nearly 27cm in length, which is normal at this stage. I think people forget that each woman experiences pregnancy differetnly, and juts because I'm carrying small, does not mean there is a problem!! Anyway, that was my pregnancy rant for the day. Just needed to get that off my chest


Does everyone have names picked out yet? Hubby and I still can't decide on a name. All the names I come up with, he finds a way by which people could mispronounce it/ruin it! So our list is very, very short!

nunuza - I feel much better today sitting with a big peppermint crisp lol 1st time I am actually craving something sweet.

GML - I must say I am lucky with my parents and in laws who did most of the paying for the big stuff (it's the 1st grandchild both sides) I got some hand me downs as well and it helps a lot. I have decided not to buy more things, only after the baby shower (not looking forward to that whenever it is)

Shame man not nice is that the gums they talk about during pregnancy? I hope you feel better soon and that there is something you can tale for that.
