file Told one gender and then another at a later scan?

I was told girl at my 13 week NT scan and she said she was 99% certain - was very confident (Then my mom bought us tons of baby girl clothes so I was super nervous if she could be wrong). At my 19+6 week Anomoly scan she (thankfully) was still a girl. And I had a scan yesterday (21+4) at my follow up with my current gynae and still a girl.

Omg @Shantal that's my worst nightmare!

I was told I was having a girl throughout my entire pregnancy, up until my 4D scan at 36 weeks, when I was told by the sonographer it was a boy.

This after my elaborate pink baby shower.

Happened to us...
I was at a very reputable hospital @ Pretoria with my first (2009). At 12 weeks we went to Fetal Assesment Centre - we were told a boy. 14 weeks - regular checkup at gynae...she said boy. 16 weeks Fetal Assesment again - still a boy...

I really really really wanted a girl... and at our 18 weeks scan back @ my gynae - what do you know: It's a girl!!!

And after that - still a girl and I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl!

We still joke that that must've been my "most sincere" prayer EVER,cause God gave me my girl

I agree with Ankie, with my first the specialist at the anomaly scan knew what baby was at 12 weeks but we didn't want to find out and at 21 weeks it was still the same as he asked us if we still didn't want to know.

With this one at 12 weeks my gynae couldn't see. At 16 weeks she said she thinks it's a boy but still wasn't 100% sure at 20 weeks he had his legs wide open and lo and behold the scan said it all!

I still get told by friends that they were told they were having boys and a girl popped out so hopefully at a later scan you get a more confident picture and result!

Hi CarienM!
13 weeks is still too early to really see. But sometimes some drs can see or take a guess. Usually they can see by 16 weeks though. I would not take it too seriously before 16 weeks!

My experience: with my first the dr guessed a girl at 12 weeks, and confirmed a girl at 16 weeks. With my second the dr said she think's it is a girl but can not say so for sure. The 16 weeks scan showed a boy :)

Hi there CarienM

No I have not and this is my 3rd. My last scan was at 12w1d anb before the exam the doc asked what I was hoping for. I told her a boy. When we were examining she was saying the baby is elusive. Next thing on the picture, she wrote female. I think she just wanted to disappoint me or shut me up. I am real hoping for a boy.
