Awh wow miracle baby just like ours.

I cannot disagree with that we have some very good hospitals but not many good Dr’s. The reason I went to Dr Kruger is cause I had a miscarriage April 2015 (struggled for 2 years) which was awful. I was bleeding for like 3 weeks went to my Gyneo and he said its implantation bleeding I shouldn’t be worries. In the meantime I had terrible back pain etc. So one day we went to the ER and same thing 4 Dr’s is JHB said its implantation bleeding. No one sent me for extra blood test nada!!!

So I lost the baby and someone told me about Dr Kruger so I made and appointment cost us a fortune. When we got there she did all the test and it came up I did not have enough progesterone to support a pregnancy. She then gave me tablets and 2 months after I miscarried I fell pregnant again and everything is going well. I am still taking Utrogestan until 12 weeks. She checks everything every time I go see her. She is my miracle Dr, as I got told I won’t be able to have kids.

I am 11 weeks now and never really had any bad symptoms just nausea all day but that ended at 7 weeks. Now I am just throwing food down this endless pit, I am so hungry all the time and tired. I do have one bad thing and its dandruff, I never used to have dandruff but this pregnancy gave it to me and I love it hahah sounds weird I know.

Ok now it makes sense why you would want to attend classes in JHB. Why are you then coming to Wilgers to have your baby? Sure there is very good hospitals in Jhb aswell?

Please let me know once you know how much the bed is. I hope it is not R 1300.00. Yes everything is so expensive. And my medical aid only starts paying from 12 weeks for doctor visits and scans. So everything for my own poor pocket now.

I am 7 weeks now after struggling for 2 years. As a last resort we did IUI in May and when they washed hubby's sperms they found he had very very low count and the procedure was unsuccessful. Our next step was to get to a urologist to see what is going on (we already have a child that we did not try for).
Our urologist appointment was set for 20 Aug and I did the test on 14 Aug and got a positive. The only thing we did different (we weren't really trying as we knew we needed help) was used conceive plus. Seems that did the trick for us.
Now I must just take good care of myself as I am turning 36 in a few months and getting to the high risk area.
I am feeling ok - a bit nauseaus and very tired. Went for scan yesterday and confirmed the heartbeat.

How far are you and any bad symptoms?

I am going to see the Dr again 15 September them I will ask.

She gave me a print out of amounts payble wen booking a bed and I cannot remember if its R300 or R1300 for a bed booking.

Everything is so expensive I cut myself off. :side: :S

We are in the East of Joburg and its hard getting off work every time and then sit in traffic, so I prefer doing the classes here on a Saturday morning.

You know the bosses never understands! Its their time and money! Blah blah Just wish they could be more understanding sometimes.

Otherwise how are you feeling? How far are you?

@MommywannaB,

I am not sure if it still works this way but when we were there with my first pregnancy, if you booked your bed at the Wilgers, you paid R 300.00 "booking fee". This then included a pack with baby's needs for the first few days in hospital, antenatal classess in the evenings (4 classess), and the 4D scan.

Maybe a good idea to find out if it is still the case then you dont need to pay for classes.

Hi Ninies,

Well at least you did not have to make that decision yourself, it's hard and stressful. :(

I have heard great things about the Wilgers and now you as well it puts my mind at ease. Thank you.

1st time I have ever heard that but hey nothing a plastic surgeon cannot fix hehe *wink wink*

No I didn't even know they had antenatal classes, however we are attending classes in JHB sarting end of Sept.

Thank you so much

Hi MommywannaB,

I really had a good experience at the Wilgers. I was there twice for procedures and both times I was happy. I must say that when I had my c-section, they really prioritise the ladies that had a c-section. The sister told me that the ladies that had c-section gets cared for first before the normal birth ladies.
I did not have a choice but to have a c-section because of the myoma. But I am happy I did not have to make the decision as I was petrified of normal labour. C-section is extremely sore afterwards, but I now know what to expect.

Also at my very first gynae visit 4 years ago the gynae and I had the discussion and he said once the baby comes out down there, nothing is the same anymore...

Good luck and I hope you are going to have a super duper experience at the Wilgers. Are you attending their antenatal classes?

Hi Ninies,

That's good to hear. This is my 1st time actually being at the Wilgers so I was not to sure about the hospital it self but my Dr is amazing I just love her. :woohoo:

I am glad to hear the staff there is also good it makes the birthing experience so much better. I am so afraid of a C - Section  so I am praying everyday things go well so I can do it all natural.

Congrats on your pregnancy and wishing you well.
