question-circle Mommies in Alberton - Looking for a Gynie

10 years 11 months ago #269090 by MommywannaB
Hi Guys,

Just an update on the Dr, we went to go see Dr Coleman and we just love Him. The 1st Dr who said to me baby is 100% and I am more worried about you, low iron.

I am however very irritated with the girls working there, I have never been to a Dr and they check your savings before you see the Dr so we had to wait 38 min for them to sort out the medical aid.

I am now more relaxed and feel ready for the day this little man is on his way.

Have a blessed day all and thank you for the support.

@ Lauz - wow you are in your last few weeks now. My babies EDD was 23 Nov 2015 so it's going to be a very looong sad day for us. It's so special, in the back of my mind I always wanted a little boy but I would have been happy with anything.

@ Nikita - I will phone her today to make an appointment and then ask the receptionist about the payments etc. I am so excited (weird cause its just a Dr) hahahaa

I will keep you guys updated

@MommyWB - I am with Discovery and she charges Discovery rates (R750 on Discovery) If you are on another medical aid you have to pay cash and then claim back (I think there is a notice board in her waiting area)
She really has reasonable rates and would pay it out of my pocket with a smile.

Oh I totally understand! Gosh it's very difficult with these medical aids as well! I'm due next month 24th November also having a little boy - so blessed!

Let us know what you think of Dr Moodley and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

Hi Lauz, - Oh NO I would also be very upset about that, If it ws a mistake admit it and go on it's not like you will sue him because of that silly man . Thank you so much, we are blessed with this little rainbow baby and I don't want to to something I will regret. I had a bad experience with a gynie and as from today I cannot go to that hospital where he is. I just want the best experience. I know it's very hard. My gynie is in PTA and I feel bad for leaving her but Medical Aid advised they will not be paying as she is 250% out of medical aid rates and the GAP cover only pays in hospital not visits. Its financially stressing me out when I can be saving the R1300 for baby every 4 weeks of going to her.

How far are you now?

@ beehen - yes we do it's a little BOY

Sorry for the late reply MommywannaB, firstly congrats on your pregnancy and I really think you'll love Dr Moodley!

As for Dr Coleman my one friend is going to him now and she too wanted advice on him, he truly is a lovely man and made me feel very comfortable everytime I went except with my last visit. I was still young and he did a Papsmear which when he finished he looked at me and said you coming on your period soon. I was on the pill I knew when it was my time so didn't think anything of it until I stood up to get dressed. The Papsmear wasn't painful or anything but I was bleeding terribly and I still had to go back to work, I was wearing white pants as it is so I was very upset about the whole thing. Instead of being honest and stating he went a little too deep for the Papsmear he used the excuse of a menstruation. I just decided from that point I just couldn't go back. I didn't want that to happen again and decided to go to another gynae. I know it's actually quiet stupid now but I just couldnt go through that again.

All the best with finding a new gynae! It's such a difficult thing but you'll know when it's the right person. I changed gynaes at 21 weeks with my first born and ever since then I'm so glad I made the right decision with my gynae.

@ Nikita - Everyone so far is saying good things about her. How much does she charge per consultation and do you pay her or does she claim from medical aid?

@ beehen - Her father was very good, however my cousin hates that Dr, she said she almost lost her baby because of her. Everyone has their opinions I personally don't know her.

@ Lauz - May I ask about the bad experience? At the moment it looks like Dr Moodley might be my new Dr.

Thank you,
