Hi Liesel,

Definitely PTA East and definitely dr Miems Kleynhans. Ive been with her since 2007. Dr Miems really is a wonderful Dr. I wont ever go to anyone else.

as for the maternity ward, its clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, you dont wait for ages to get someone to come and help esp after c-sections.

Good luck with your pregnancy journey!

Liesel, how do you want to give birth? Do you want a c/s or a natural birth? Both these hospitals are known for their high c/s rates and both these gynies do brilliant c/s. So if that is how you want to give birth, then you are at the right doctors.

I think Pretoria East have better breastfeeding support.

Gynies normally do scans at each appointment but only charges for 2 or 3 during pregnancy. Most medical aids only pay for two scans. You only need to scan around 12 weeks and around 20 weeks for the fetal checks.

If you would like to give birth naturally, please contact me and I will help you find some resources in your area. I teach HypnoBirthing ante natal classes in Pretoria so have a list of contacts.

Hi,

I'm a first time mom to be and need a bit of help.....

I've never been to a gynaecologist but I've made an appointment with Dr. S. Panatiz at Pretoria East hospital as well as with Dr. J. Grassie at Kloof hospital. I can't decide to which hospital I want to go.

Could anybody provide feedback on the doctors as well as on the maternity wards at the respective hospitals?

Another thing I would like to know is - is the normal 2D scan included in the appointment price or do they charge for the scans seperately?

And how many 2D scan on average do you do in a full term pregnancy?

Thanks.
