I can only check online after the 1st of Aug, because that is when my cover starts. I have tried to check, but I'm denied access. I know that I'll only get an appointment for a few weeks from now, so I need to book asap.

I am not from Pretoria but know the following hospitals are part of your KeyCare Plus Network:

Muelmed Hospital
Pretoria Eye Institute
Zuid-Afrikaans Hospital

The Netcare Femina Hospital is available only if you have the KeyCare Access Plan.

Take into consideration that KeyCare Plans cover only normal vaginal deliveries, not elective or chosen caesarean sections. Discovery will only pay delivery by caesarean section only if it is medically necessary and they have approved it.

Regards to the Gynea - have you made use of Discovery Online Tool to search for a specialist that you have full cover with? Discovery is usually quiet up to date with this function. However I have come across that not all specialist that Discovery would cover in full are linked to the Hospital you entitled to make use of.

If not you can always call Discovery and ask for an excel sheet to be sent to you listing all the gynea's in your area.

Hi Ladies

I'm new to many things, including this board, pregnancy and my Keycare Plus medical aid plan (Discovery).

These three have merged to give me a major headache. According to the Keycare Plus brochure, I can have 4 gynea visits, but the gynea should operate from a network hospital. I'm considering using Eugene Marais for the birth (very close by), but I'm not sure which gynea I can go to.

I want to go to Idalette Boshoff, but I see that she has her own practise. Does anyone know if she charges at 100%?

I've been trying to figure this out for about a week, but it seems as though my brain is broken.

PS: I'm 6 months pregnant, had to move onto my own medical aid plan for various reasons. Had many a gynea-visit on the previous plan, but Femina is not a network hospital, so I need someone else.
