Lol, thanks for reviving it though Niki! This info is definitely something that I find useful and I'm sure other expecting moms will find it useful too

Hi

I used a medela mini electric and liked it as well. I used it for 4 months when I went back to work and it is a bit noisy so if you don't have somewhere ver private them people might hear you. To he honest though by that point I didn't care if people could hear,

We are on discovery medical aid and our breastfeeding/lactation consultant got the pump for us delivered it and invoiced discovery directly and they paid for it in full.

We also used nuk teats and the standard neck teats fit on the medela bottle so you can express into the bottle and then just put a nuk teat on, which was useful in the beginning when I had milk supply issues and had to pump and top up

I have cleaned and packed mine away and will use it again hen we have number two.

I have heard the double pump is really quick and good, but obviously more expensive

Oh ok...

Yes that would be hilarious! Imagine... But it's true would be nice to have tested others out. Tried a friends electric and didn't like it so I've just stuck to my Avent which thank goodness works nicely for me.

You can hire, but i suspect it's only the one kind that you can hire cos on their website they say it's not good to use someone else's breastpump cos you can never clean them totally properly, they make one (or two) specific kinds for hospitals and hire that are made in such a way that they can be completely and utterly cleaned and sterilised so i suspect it is a very specific one that is for hire and not necessarily the type i would buy.

But it's worth investigating.

I think they need to have like a breastpump party or something (like a tupperware party) where they have all the different types of breastpumps being displayed and they show how they work etc!
