I have not heard of Dr Zinn and only had a couple of moms use Kingsbury...

I think it is going to depend on what sort of birth you are aiming for because from the other healthcare professionals I have spoken to Kingsbury is commonly referred to as 'Caesars Palace'...

I've heard nothing but good things re Dr Zinn. I'm with Paula Penkin at Kingsbury and she is awesome but very expensive.

I had my son at Kingsbury in April and highly recommend the hospital and staff. Security was very tight - tags on baby's back and legs with detectors - you def can't just walk in and steal a baby. There are always nurses around inside and security in the main entrance. Staff was very good - supportive of breastfeeding and my birth plan plus organized to convert a semi pvt into a pvt for me. Hubbie stayed over too which was fab.

Spiral, please let me know what you mean. I will be doing the maternity ward tour on the 2 of June only.

I know the security for your baby is extremely good at the hospital. My sister and cousin has given birth there and haven't mentioned any thing bad to me.

Hi

I have been with him for awhile now. He is lovely, soft and gentle man. I would recommend him to everyone. Has all the patience in the world for my silly questions.

I just emailed him this morning for the costs for birth so that i can inform my medical aid and prepare the savings.

Here is the cost for antenatal for 2010
Dr Zinn:
VISITS: Initial consultation & scan - R850.00 + R472.50 = R1322.50
Follow up visits - R440.00 + Film R63.00 = R503.00
or DVD recording R91.00 = R531.00

DELIVERY:
Vaginal delivery - R8528.81 (Code: 2614)
Caesarean section – R8075.15+ R1615.03 (assistant fee) = R9690.18 (Code: 2615 & 0009)

Hope this helps
