afu, all is well, K still being a real cutie pie. Last night and the night before he slept with underpants on from 11:00 - 06;30 with out having an accident If you wondering why i put him in underpants only at 11:15 its because he had some milk so i knew would have a pee and for some reason he only wakes up once he has had that first wee and his nappy is wet.lol.

Julz, enjoy Coldplay (that's supposed to be me green with envy). We used to plave "Viva La Vida" all the time for Cole when I was pregnant. DH and I really loved that song.

Mandy and Julz covered all the question - also not to certain about the insurance, good question though. And yes a book (like mandy mentioned) is a great help. I also know alot of schools/creches make the parents sign an idenmity form. Good Luck - im sure he is going to loooove it though. Im glad Nina is feeling better.

Thanks ladies. I'll ask all the right questions now, I'm such a novice at all of this lol. Mandy I actually found her through your referral thanks, she's part of the Jungle Tots franchise and she only opened last week so she's still very new. Its literally just a playgroup, from 8-12 and I can send him anything from 2-5 days a week (obviously the cost goes up the more days you do). I took Oliver with me and he ran off to play the second we were in the door and was very happy so I think its the right place for him, I haven't even looked at anywhere else and to be honest I don't see the point just for two mornings a week if I'm happy with this place, why confuse the issue. She's only got 6 kids at the moment and only 4 of them are 5dayers, and she says she's not planning to take on more than 12 kids so its a nice sized group I thought.

Lwasi I think Simone is right, although you don't want to make a big issue out of things you need to have a conversation with management about being overlooked this time and about what opportunities you'll be considered for in the future. Good luck hun.

Helen hope you figure all the details out with the school. I will be no help with these issues but glad Mandy, Julz & maybe Nicole as well can add some info.
Really feeling Shrey will benefit from a playgroup as well now but we'll see next month what we can figure out.

We had a good night. Shrey slept in his cot till we woke this morning, that hasn't happened for a long time. He was a bit difficult last night before bedtime because he only woke from his afternoon nap around 5:30 so first was in a nagging mood and then wanting to play when I wanted to sleep. He eventually slept at 9:30

Lelani can we make it early again please so that Dylan can sleep in the afternoon. 9 am at my house would be great if the other ladies can also make it at that time.

Helen I think mandy has already covered it. Most importantly is that the school is registered. This means it is inspected and has to meet certain criteria. I am not sure about inusurance. I assume they would have a liability insurance, but I do know that if your child is hurt at school you would use your medical aid usually. I suppose if there was serious neglegence then you could ask that the school pays for the medical bills or sue the school. I recon most schools would say you place your child at your own risk within reason. I have not asked a school about insurance. They ask me for my medical aid details. Great question though. You should find out what their emergency procedure is should an accident happen. Are they prepared to take your little on to the emergency room. Is there someone who can actually drive a vehicle and is the vehicle available at all times. I know of big schools whose owners leave during the day so they would have to call an ambulance.

I think you should ask if her place is registered and if she has any teacher and or first aid qualifications ( or any other people that look after him) but in terms of insurances, you would be covered on your medical aid should anything happen to Oliver - if that is what you are meaning. Also if you went on your own, I would ask if the lady minds if you bring Oliver back for him to be shown around as well and for him to just get a sense of it. One place I took Cameron to, he screamed the entire time and others he seemed to be interested in..

If you are meaning do they have 3rd party insurances - you can ask her..that would mean if a wall fell on his head, can you sue for damages, but i never thought of that before..!!

But things that WILL affect you- what is there procedure with discipline, with biting, with injuries, with meds etc and when do they close? Do they close every primary school holiday and for how long over december etc coz thats when you would have to pay more to others for extra care.. also - is there a daily note from the teacher to let you know any info like is he eating, are his toilet habits normal, were there any fights, or problems with sleep.. Even with Cameron talking now, he talks absolute crap, tells "LONG" stories or wont answer the question.. so the book helps
