Oct/Nov 2008 mommies!

Hi Gals,

Mandz- I'm not going to make it on saturday, my photo shoot has been moved to the 9th and there's just no way I can make the long joury 2 weeks running, These kids start screaming from the moment they sit in the car chair and it doesn't stop until we take them out. Yes you can fit 3 car seats in the back ifd tour car has 3X 3 point seat vbelts. Ours doesn't so I sit in the back in between the babies and C sits in the front with Elwyn.

Ally- I'm counting down the days til Pasella- 2w 2d!!!!

Simone- sorry G has now left! Xxxx another day gone is another day closer to him being home. Did the spotting turn into full AF? Woud be great if the meds have brought your cycle down to 28 days!

Julz- Glad you got Clumsy in the end! Well Gumsy now isn't it? How is he settling in?

Lelani- how you hun? Is Chanel still keeping up with her schoolwork?

Ankia- desperste to know if you got confirmation of the sex yet!

Christi- any MS yet?

Lisha- how ws the rally thing? Did Shrey enjoy it? And how was his sleeping?

Nicole- how was your weekend?

Helen- how is Nina doing? Still niggly? I keep forgetting to reply everytime you talk about meeting up. Sorry! Things are just manic here with the kitchen and I can't go out while it's being done, hopefully it should be finished by wednesday. When do you go back to work?

Yoza- how are your 2?

Nelria- think we must do coffee again soon! When are you starting studies again? I'm bringing the boys through on Monday 4th April @ 10:30 for their jabs so we must do coffee, it's been ages! Any news on those beds?

Alex has a fever now, grrrrr it's never bloody ending, but at least I nknow to give it a while before phoning the Dr.

Me and C had a much better weekend although not perfect by any means. I tried to encourage him to give the babies their bottles which he was a bit rough with but I just guided him and then when I fed Alex his porridge C went to get another baby spoon and also started feeding him, man it was funny and cute. He was actually very gentle, I was scared he would shove it down Alex's throat LOL This 2 year age gap was just way too short, now he's close on 2 and a half and things are starting to get better, he is communicatingf a bit more.

My child is English speaking, he goes to an English school and yet the only thing he said all weekend is "nee dis MYNE"! So Elwyn has spent the whole weekend replying in afrikaans to him for a change LOL he obviously has an Afrikaans friend at school. Well I say friend, if they're shouting "nee did MYNE" at each other they may just be enemies LOL oh yeah and everyone and evrything he sees is gonna "fight fight" mmmmmm naughty boy at school me thinks!

Nicole sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Sorry but no advice from me re getting K to sleep alone, we still have Shrey in our room.

AFM weekend was okay.
Friday night & Saturday afternoon we went to the Total Rally, they had some of those off road cars taking turns to race around a portion of the parking lot. My child was in heaven lol. He was so excited. Loved the loud sound of the cars reving their engines and making those screechy turns. My mum & I on the other hand were completely nervous because they looked like they could lose control at any time lol but guess we were over reacting as usual as they were professionals at it.

Shrey doesn't seem completely himself at the moment. He isn't eating well at all, rejects almost everything but chips Last night I gave up with protein and just made him some mac & cheese and even that he had maybe half his normal portion. He is sleeping well but Saturday night he had a crying session around 10pm, he was inconsolable for nearly 30 mins, he did say something about my niece so I think he may have been dreaming about their earlier tiff but not sure. He is still cutting those awful molars, hope he is back to normal once they are completely out.

Oh Helen, i am so sorry, my deepest, deepest condolences to all of you. Theo is definatly an amazing man for doing that. xxxxx

Oh no Helen. I am so sorry for your family's loss xxx. Wishing Theo and his mum much strength. It's always sad to say it but yes she is a much better place.

Morning Ladies.

Theo's Gran passed away on Saturday evening She's in a much better place now, when she fell last week she broke her pelvis and at the hospital they basically said there's nothing they could do so in a matter of words they said she could either stay in hopsital or go home and try to get as comfortable as possible (and basically wait to die...horrid hey?!). Needless to say she went home, anything is better than Joburg Gen! Theo went to see her on Saturday afternoon and he said she was in so much pain, she was on morphine but he said she was making guttural cries of agony and was semi delirious but she at least knew who everyone was. A few minutes after we put the kids to bed he got a phonecall from his mom who was beside herself saying she'd just gone. Its amazing how strong my husband is, he immediately had a little cry whilst getting his shoes etc on, he wasn't crying because of her passing but because he knew what he was going to have to do, just as he left the house he said to me half crying, oh god I've got to be strong and go cover my Gran...he's basically the only man in his family and everyone leans on him and expects him to support them. So he went to his aunt's house (where his Gran, mum and aunt were) and I stayed home as there was no one to look after the children. Theo was the first person they'd phoned, literally seconds after she'd gone. He really is an amazing man; he went there, looked after his mum and aunt and then got straight to it and cleaned and washed his Gran and changed her clothes and sheets so that she was dignified and decent (his mum and aunt couldn't do it) and then arranged for the undertakers to collect her and called all the relatives. There aren't many men out there who would wash and change an old lady, let alone one that had just passed away...he was so strong, he says he just did what needed to be done but his strength in those situations makes me so proud of him. I know his Gran would have been so grateful that he was there and that she was dignified in her death. Although she'd been in horrific pain she was lucky enough to pass in her sleep and it must've been such a relief for her, Theo says on Saturday afternoon when he'd seen her she kept asking to die now because she was in so much pain. She couldn't move and was totally bedridden so although very sad it was for the best.

Sorry to start the week off with bad news. We won't be able to make the meet at the weekend as there is going to be a memorial service on Sunday.

Anyways, enough of the morbid stuff, hope you all had a good weekend, I'll catch up at some point today when I get a chance
