Oct/Nov 2008 mommies!

HI ladies,

I wont be able to catch up on everything, as I haven't been on Moomie that much the last month, but i did try and read as far back as possible today.
I have been back at work since Monday, but things are really hectic here, as I have been on leave for a month.

We are going to my IL's again this weekend, as it is not going good at all with my BIL. We found out yesterday that he has a very rare very agrressive cancer and that he will only start with chemo in 2 weeks as they don't have that chemo readily available. He will get 10 sessions of chemo in 3 weeks, and he has to stay in hospital for 3 days for each session. The oncologist told the family yesterday (shame she is so nice called everyone in) and said it is a very difficult time that lies ahead, my bil will be getting very sick, as the chemo is very strong, and she has to be honest that if this chemo doesn't work, there is not much they can do for him. I cannot tell you guys how difficult this is for me even typing this, I cannot believe why this has to happen to him he is 33, has a LB of 4 and LG of 9m. He is shattered. My DH is also very emotional, and wants to be with his brother the whole time. SO that's why we have decided to go again this weekend. They are extremely close, and it's as if my BIL just opens up to DH, as they took the quad bikes and stayed away for very long, and had nice long chats. MY SIL says he is trying to be strong for her and the kids, so I am glad that DH can be there for him to talk to. Guys please keep him and our family in your thoughts and prayers!!!

I will probably be taking up 3 / 4 pages with my long post, but I have to make time to reply and post as I have missed u guys so much!!!!

We had a lovely holiday, went to PORT EDWARD, and just spent quality time as a family together, it's as if the 3 of us are so close after the holiday, and we have memories that will last forever. CJ loved the sea, and was so tired in the evenings from swimming and playing on the beach! We did however not have any routine there as he sometimes slept with us. But it's ok!

We have being busy doing sleeptraining since MOnday, the first 2 nights were horrible, and Cj threw terrible tantrums, I felt like I did not know my child, but last night went well. I am just sticking to my guns, and not giving in.

As for the move, in December they said that things are moving, but did not give us final dates. So we got it yesterday, it will only be in April, so still a long way to go... but it's ok. DH has a project that he started off with last year, and can now finish it, so he feels good about the news!

Cj is talking a lot know! He counts in english from 1 to seven and then says agt, nege tien in afrikaans!
He loves music and singing, and with driving so long on holiday he actually started learning the words o songs, like that song of Bruno Mars - Your Amazing, is his fav and he sings a long to it, when we put the volume down, Cj goes on sitting in his car seat looking out the window singing " uit volle bors". It is too precious!
He also started to tell me when he started pooing, and says he wants to poo in the potty, sometimes we are way too late, but we had one poo in potty over the weekend. He was very chuffed with himself, but since then he comes to me when he has already finished, but I am not in a hurry, at least I know he is starting to feel uncomfortable with the poo in his nappy so at least that's a start!

As far as eating goes - he is eating very badly, only in the day, takes 2 /3 bites at dinner. Different all the kids on here, CJ still drinks lots of FULL CREAM milk, he does not drink it in his bottle anymore, but drink about 4-5 glasses of milk. He does not like juice that must, loves water as well. I think my child drinks 1.5 lt of fluid a day!

Anyway enough about us:
VIX - I just want to say you have the most gorgous little boys, they are too cute, and I just feel like holding and cuddling them when I look at the pics! Love the pic of C holding his brother! How's the engorgement, hope you had some relief! That is quite a scare re breathing pad!!! Those things are great and I also swore by mine!

LElani - glad all went well with DH's op!!! Your kids are just so damn cute, and Chanel is so grown up!

Simone, G sounds like such a nice man! Addy is the cutest LG ever - I love the pics you posted!!!

Pfairy - can't believe Xander had his first day of school yesterday! You must be so proud! And Mia is too pretty!!!

JULZ - good luck for today, I hope everything went well!

Nicole - congrats on new house, and DH new job, you must be looking forward to spending more time with K! Sorry about the cramps in your wrists, hope you get it sorted soon!

YOZA - Hi, there!

Lisha, sorry we did not get time to meet! I would've loved seeing you, but we only went to Durban once and we had a very busy day, went to USHAKA and met up with old varsity friend there, so it was a hectic day!
Hope you feel better soon! I must say after USHAKA Cj is NEMO MAD, he just wants to watch Finding Nemo the whole time, so also a bit off of TS at the moment!

Ally - your holiday sounds as if it was a blast, glad your back safely!

Yoza I yelled at her on the phone and then I spoke to her the next day. I dont think they'll pull a stunt like that again..EVER! Or I'll kill them all..lol.

Thanks re: G...its always been a thing for him..that i have a degree and he doesnt...but he is the one that sacrificed and helped me pay my studies, etc...so I get so cross with him for feeling inferior about a stupid degree. That being said...2 subjects to finally finish his qualification...will do alot for his confidence...so I am really glad for him and how he will feel about it. He is however trying to wangle so that he doesnt give up his night classes...that man...needs a kick in the butt! Wants to make sure we dont have to struggle more than we do I guess....takes way to much on himself...but I guess its one of the things I love about him...the selfless love for us.

Vix: That is so scary gosh now your reminding of siba he also had the same his alarm use to go of. And I would just shake him so much or pat him under his feet. It will all pass and be a distant memory in no time.

Dh likes to walk barefoot, me not so much and K loves his shoes so he usually goes everywhere besides to creche with shoes.

I was so upset yesterday when we picked K up he was playing outside on those plastic bikes and a oldr kid by a few months went behind K and hit him on the head and then pushed him that he nearly fall off his bike, shame man my poor boy cried, he was so heartsore and i wasnt to pleased to see my son getting hurt but i know that unfortuntely these things happen
