Hope everyone had a lovely weekend?

My gynae appointment is actually this Friday, think I made a mistake when I posted it was on Friday.

The guys at work arranged a farewell party for me on Friday, got me flowers and choccies and cocktail snacks. Very sweet of them as the owners and directors were there as well.

Got such a scare on Sat afternoon. Hadn't felt Peyton move since the night before and it wasn't normal for her not to move for such a long time. I tried massaging my tummy and tried to move her around just to feel her but nothing. I was panicking at this stage and my mum told me not to stress, that they move around less now. But I remembered my gynae saying come straight to the hospital if you don't feel any movement.

I put on the classical CD and connected the earphones and placed on my belly and finally felt something but it was so slight I wasn't convinced.

My fiance asked me if I wanted to go to the hospital just for peace of mind but I said we will see how the day goes and if still nothing, we can go later.

Anyway we were enroute to his family's home and when I got there they met me at the car blindfolded me and said welcome to your surprise babyshower! Had such a lovely afternoon in the garden and finally felt her move later and was so relieved. She is a lucky princess as this was her third babyshower. My fiance sent the outstanding list of things we had to get to them and now I have everything!

Today is my first day of maternity leave-was up at 4h30 as per normal

On the waxing subject, I went to Canal Walk yesterday for diapers and then went to check out the Veet, was going to get my fiance/sister to help me shave, but thought I'd save them the hassle! Read the instructions on the Veet and it said not to be used on the genital area, so put it back. So eventually walked into Dream Nails Body and booked a Brazilian and a pedi for this Sat

Think I'm going to climb back into bed for a while and will let get to work on the nursery. Hope you all have a lovely day!

Hahaaa, the waxing bit, i'm too a "wax-virgin" 'n I do agree, shaving down there is no joke, cant see what u doing...dont think i could go through with it so I'll keep on trying to do my thing

I had my baby shower today, awh, was dressed up, blind folded, make-up the worx! My mom spilled the beans to me last week as it was suppose to be a surprise so I had to act surprised Lil p received the most adorable things and she needs nomore clothing, blankets, nothing actually except getting her's and mine things sorted for the hospital (still haven't done that, need to get me a bag too) & the big items still but waiting on DH, he might be coming down for interviews that week I finish off work, the 15th!
I should thank my inlaws for making this afternoon a memorable one! I don't have any pics too post, must get it from my cousin...

I'm sleeping in Gordans Bay tonight so I might pop into Somerset Mall as I want to buy a basket for her goodies at sheet street...I unpacked all my gifts already so just have to wash all her blankies 'n dust off her cot 'n things soon soon.

Went for my 34week scan yesterday 'n lil p's weighing 2.4kg's, has lots of hair 'n is growing above average with chubby cheeks too:) so everything's progressing well...gynae mentioned that my placenta's still low so will keep monitoring that as baby's head might still engage but if not,an elective ceaser at 39 weeks either the 4th or the 6th of August, just not on the 2nd, my bday - Charn, I see ur booked in for that day but babies have a mind of their own so we'll wait 'n see! Another 2 appointments this month, coming close together now!

My temp started Thursday so I have 2 weeks to train her before I go on leave...counting down the days!

As im reading this im sitting here cracking myself about the waxing issue.im also a waxing virgin as ive never ever considered it but now that shaving down there is becoming difficult it has crossed my mind but was to shy to actually book myself for a waxing session down there.so after reading all your comments im definitly considering it. .as for the veet can u use any veet or does it hav to be a certain type?always thought it wud be unsafe.

I need to attend 10 births for my certificate, so I do not charge for this attendance

Please let me know!
I am also a midwife so for those having a natural birth, I can give a second opinion if the doctor/midwife is saying you need a c-section.

I started doing full bikini / aka hollywood wax about a year back and will not look back.
Ok sorry for TMI - but it also gets those hairs on the 'lips' and I love that its all clean! Prefer it in the bedroom...

I've never tried veet down there. Didnt even think it was safe?
But I've now booked at M2M's place and hopefully I'm happy cos will save me R100/month!

About the pain - have you ever had your lip mustache waxed? That's worse for me. The pain lingers much longer with lip. With the bikini wax, it's sore, but only for an instant and it goes so quickly. By the time you're finished the pain is gone.
Just a word of warning, some ladies have ingrown hairs after, esp first time, but its not common. And pain threshold is different in pregnancy, so could be more painful. But most ppl I know haven't complained about it.

Aah about the laying all open - yea you gotta spread your knees for them to work properly. But seen em one, seen em all? It's part of their job. And by now we are so used to people being around there - imagine at the actual birth!

i am a hollywood wax fanatic....ja they wax me down there and your bottom half is naked, some beauticians cover you with a towl - if you want, but i've been with my beautician for more that three years. and there is nothing better than a wax. the regrowth is very little and over time it gets less. i did IPL before i was pregnant and i would say i have about (MAX) 13% hair down there if i need to compare with way back when i did not do the wax/ipl thing...

don't be shy! they are like gynies, it is part of their job...

I also do the Veet thing - been doing it for a few years now and I love it!
