hey ladies!

Humidifier / Purifier - havent even crossed my mind! I mean do we really NEED it or is it just a want? Seriously, how many babies have survived over the centuries without it. I am very skeptical to buy "crap" or things peeps say you need but you actually really dont....?

Eve - we have a carry cot! but as our main cot we dont have the wooden one, i like the features the carry cots have :side:

Eloise - near to hear you are calmer in this pregnancy, i am normally very organised but for some reason in this pregnancy i have been so disorganised and chilled out - must be a good thing tho!

Maureen - sorry to hear about all the medical bills, i am sure discovery will accept you! I also want my body back! Well i want to be able to run again i miss it sooo much, i miss having a flat (well flatish) tummy!

Mrs SH - regarding UIF i also got given the forms from HR, they are paying me 75% of salary so i can claim the other 25% but i must admit the forms are confusing i was going to use uif assist you know the whole thing with ethans dad and i already paid the R300 which they will not refund me and i just dont know if its even worth going through them if you have to wait for months to get your money than quick if you do it yourself? flip i dont know

From Cape Town: Little boy (Breyton) due 13 June 2010, delivering at Blaauwberg Netcare :)

Agh, being the breadwinner isnt always a great thing hey, I can only imagine being spoilt by hubby!

Lets hope he gets himself jobful soon after i get him med.ful!

Sorry ladies about the UIF shlep. I know when I applied the last maternity, did it myself and they kocked up as usual and I had to wait an extra 4 weeks before they woke up.

We are still waiting for UIF for DH unemployement, cos between previous employer and forms here and forms there!!! SOOO frustrating. Hoping I can go do some baby shopping when that ship sails in ;)

Mrs S H - I hated those forms, I used Little Miracles, and all my stuff I submitted to them end of April. So I don't really worry about it. Will follow up with them closer to the time.
Eloise - you are beyond lucky. My company only pays for 6 weeks, the rest I must claim from UIF. I can take anything between 4 and 6 months, but can only afford 4.
Anyone else the bread winner in the house? It really sucks, not always that bad, but bad when you get unpaid leave for 10 weeks and your DH salary can't cover all the costs. :(

Mrs SH - I wasn't going to claim for UIF because I only worked for 3 months at my last job and my previous job I was paid from the UK. Anyhoo, the school secretary gave me all the forms I need. I got the bank to fill out the one form and also got a bank statement, like required. I haven't checked what else needs to be done but I'm planning on doing it myself. I've heard so many stories about dodgy claims companies that I'm a bit unsure of using any of them.

I actually have no clue how to go about putting the claim through, I just know that I have the forms.

Mrs S H - tell me about those forms they are so so confusing.

Now the Department even wants proof of residence (2 letters) Letter from the company to confirm how long you are employed on the company letterhead and 6 salary advice.

And so much much more, its frustrating I tell you

maureen, at this stage its rather easy. I envy you only 4.5 weeks - wow :silly: Thats awesome!
Ive got 5/6 weeks of work (dep. on what I can still handle) and dep. if my bp decides to rise. So Im preparing for baby anywhere from 10 - 25 June.

Mrs SH, altho Ive got all these other issues, at least I dont have to worry about UIF. My comp. pays for my mat.leave in full for 4 months. Thats such a relief!

Ladies, I am feeling much better, must say the hot water bottle works wonders on your back.

I have a humidifier and intend on using that with the heater on.
