That is an awesome cake, Ashbabe! Congrats on his birthday. My Isabella also turned one last week. My son would love a cake like that though!!

Congrats on all the babies who have turned one, it was my Logans first birthday on the 23rd July, last sat we had a small party at my house for him, i cant believe all our babies are one!

Cant believe we planning parties already!! Last yr this time we were worrying about the birth and pregnancy dilemma's. lol

Naomi, we went through (and probably still are) the same "naughty" phase. he still throw himself back when he doesnt get what he wants, but at least the screaming has become nonsensical moans LOL which is waaay cute

Are you guys having sleep issues? Its really bugging me what a bad sleeper he is ;-( I dont mind the waking up and the feeding, but alot of the time when he wakes up, he is fully awake, and wants to play at like 3 in the am! For like an hour! My poor DH and I dread night time!

he had very bad flu last week, and gave us quite a scare, as he stated getting febrile convulsions, I've read about it, but to exp it is another story! Was the scariest moment of my life! his fever was 41! Well we rushed him to ER and his right as rain again now, but WOW what a scare.

Other than that, his my little angel and growing up way to fast for my liking. He weighs more or less the same as my 2 yr old ;-( LOL but his big for his age, and she's tiny..... so I', not concerned. But they also on the same size nappies, shoe size and clothing size..... its hilarious

I am also planning a small party, but doing it at home, with a handful of kids. I did the big party with my 1st one, had another small one at her 2 yr birthday in Feb, and the clean up was not as bad as I had thought it would be. ALTHOUGH it was summer and the kids were outside most of the time... mmmmm the weather does put a damper on things hey.

Anyway the weekend is upon us so at least thats a good thing. have a good weekend all!

For Adults Im going for a braai also, not in the mood to be cooking stew, soups, etc. cant offer "finger foods" cos my friends and family just love their food

For party packs, Im thinking of doing something age-appropriate. so wanna get ideas of what the kids like and include it in the party packs

I have a relative who's gonna let me use her jumping castle for free, tables and chairs for free. I just sort out my own decor, cakes and party packs... hadn't really though of what I was going to make for the grown ups shoo, maybe braai some meat we'll see

Reason for finding a venue is the cleaning-up afterwards and kids trashing my house (and space problem) so I feel you.
the venue is reasonable thou, the amount we'll pay there we would have spent it hiring the jungle gym, jumping castles, etc anyway.

with us its alot of small kids (ranging 3months - 8years), so its better that the parents join us also instead of just dropping off the kids.
DH also insisted on guys being there also so he's not the only men
