file Who was with you when baby was born?

Only my hubby was with me , the hospital only allowed visitors including family members to come at visiting hours and they were very strict , when visiting hours was over they would come and tell my visitors they need to leave now.

I believe that the birthing process is very intense and you only get to experience it very little in your life so you need to have it more or less like you want it.

Good luck with the birth Charnaney!!!

I didn't want anyone there and my family are all in the uk. I told them to visit from 6 weeks only. I love them but I just wanted us to be by ourselves. Neil's mom was rushed into icu the same morning as I was so it was hectic and now I am sorry that I didn't have someone there as Neil struggled with things that day and I was very alone.

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.

DH smsed my family when i went into the delivery room and they came to the hospital. They came in and wished me luck and i took the nicest pic with us all together right before my LB was born. but they went out and only DH was in with me.
They all waited outside to see him but they couldnt hold him because he was taken right from the delivery room to the baby station to be cleaned, warmed etc. So they didnt hold him untill very much later! Good luck hey, but do what YOU want to.

In the picture, my mom, my sister and my very close aunt!

Hi All

I get your point charnenay.

I wouldn`t want anybody there. Im a very quiet person and i like my privacy too.

I even told BD that i wouldn`t mind if he`s there or not, as long as my body is there and i get my healthy baby, thats all.

Then i`ll break the news to everybody!

I think it is sometimes difficult to manage other people's expectations - especially MIL or even pushy moms.

But the part I did like about pregnancy is that you become quite bossy and unreasonable. I am bossy and unreasonable all the time, but for 9 months I could blame hormones and it was brilliant.

It really is important for new and/or young moms to find their inner voice that says "no, this is ACTUALLY the way I WANT IT to be be - end of discussion" and exercise that voice.

We tend to so easily make ourselves uncomfortable to make others comfortable, and that can be disastrous when you are trying to find your feet with a new baby and the impact on your home and your relationship.

Nothing quite makes people stick their noses into your business as when you have a new baby, so start practicing now to draw boundary lines and to enforce them.

Every no you say now, will make your life so much more easier when baby is here.
