Misty Mom - LOL on the long post!! I am impressed you remembered so much. I did a bit of reading up on bottles and my 2c worth is that the nipple is fairly important for the baby in terms of development of facial muscles and not to cause any additional orthodontic problems. This is what I value and may not be for others. Anyway for me Pigeon came out tops and NUK a close second.

Meags - Yes we are going with Tessa Amelie. My scan was also 16w4d when she measured 158g .... how close is that!
Oh and DH went through a patch of drinking too much (in my opinion) early in our marriage and don't worry I always managed to drop pots and slam cupboards shut, hee hee.
At 32 weeks you will know exactly what you want and will have lists ready and you will literally hit the ground running. You'll get everything in a few days. It is more spreading the budget that takes the months!!
Yes my nipples have itchy days, I usually find they grow a few days after an itchy phase. Then they get sore and tender and then they feel totally normal. Then the cycle starts again
The pain under the boob, honestly I have had so many aches and pains I have lost track of what has hurt and what hasn't.

I would say if you plan to breastfeed keep 4 bottles handy (yes....i always over stock...). perhaps you may need 1 or 2 while you are out and then what if you get home and for whatever reason need another?? you can sterilse those 2 dirty ones and use a clean one in the meantime

I would say the bio oil is enough. you cant put too much on, as most creams wont rub in over the oil anyway

apparently 4D scans are best at around 28 weeks

I wouldnt worry about the 5kg. I had gained 6.5kg up to 15 weeks and now in the last 3 weeks I havent gained anything.

We haven't bought anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!! however, my mom has bought every single outfit for a boy from woolies, edgars and a few from ackermans today. but everything else will only be bought after 32 weeks SCARY!!!!

I would say from 24 weeks I would probably (if I had the choice) begin to buy everything (pram, cot, car seat, linen, nappies etc). and from 24 weeks also start setting up the nursery. however, it is always easier to buy a couple of things each month to ensure you have the budget. I'd say by 30-32 weeks everything should be bought and the nursery should be painted. then from 30 weeks you can start finalising the nursery and packing cupboards etc. (this is my first though so perhaps I am living in a dream world????)

does anyone have sore itchy nipples???? Mine are!! I have lots of samples of Lansinol so I've been putting that on...
and for the last 3 days I have a burning pain under my right boob on my ribs???? anyone else?

Lucy at my last scan (16 weeks 4 days) baby weighed 152g. so in 11 days he has gained 100g it's so amazing!!
so have you decided her name will be Tessa Amelie?? DH so badly wanted to have the name Amelie if ours was a girl

I'm sure he wasnt thinking...but I guess on top of all the other irritations, it just didnt make anything better. He called today and says he is still feeling a bit yucky (which makes me happy! haha I'm so mean...)

I'm also a bit annoyed as I wanted to go with him to USA now to start looking for a house and to look at which shops is best to buy furniture etc. and he said NO. Now he is saying he wishes I was there and maybe I could have come for a bit

anyway...men...I hope tomorrow I feel better.
Matthieu has been so active all afternoon and this evening.

I also went to a different chiropractor today. He clicked my back and put me on some infra red machine thingy and about 2 hours later I could hardly walk I was in so much pain!! But I know it gets worse before getting better so just had a long bath and now going to bed.

Hope tomorrow brings a good day for me!! (and all you lovely ladies of course).

Once again feel so bad fo rnot been on for 4 days - wow you girls have really been chatting up a storm...when i log on it takes about an hour just to read through all the posts. I will try remember some:

Rakker - glad that the 12 week scan went fine! I know all about the morning sickness...hope it has all passed by now. AT least the low blood pressure has been dignosed. YAY on heartbeat...how exciting!!

KarinM - hope you are feeling better now!! I think that as we enter the 2nd trimester hopefully all these little niggles will ahve worked there way out of our systems! Glad that george got some good rain this weekend!!

Bronwyn - welsome. I can see that the girlsa are looking after you well. Hope you enjoy your stay and congrats!

Kimika - once again ty fo rbeen on top of keeping tabs on all of us. You are doing a fantastic job My next scan is 10 November (16.5 weeks)

LucyW - glad to see that "sebastien" is doing well. Must of been nice having your parents there. Wow that must have been a little bit of a shock! One of the many many reasons that I am waiting for the birth to find out the sex. Although I am sure that you will get used to it soon! Congrates on Team Pink!! and gosh your bump does look small...lucky you, bet all you rclothe stsill fit? HELP - i have no idea about bottles! Read a whole articel recently in one of teh babay mags and did not help at all. Still do not know what brand to buy! That is a good price at discem!

Joli - yay that you are enjoying gym! I really must get my self back into gym soon. I did make it the other day...got as far as the changing rooms and then showered and came home!lol Lazy me! The weight that you did not loose after Kayle - was it because you did not try/was happy withit/or what ever reason? I really hope to loose ,y weight after birth. I have already picked up 5kg (14 weeks) but think a little bit of it is due to the fact that i stopped smoking as soon as found out pregnant, so guess that is kinda understnadable. Just so happy the smoking has now stopped!

EmsMom - lol at your dream! I hear you have crazy dreams when pregnany but I have not had any so far. Wow what a busy weekend!!

KarinM - wow half way! I just got excited at 1/3rd of way!!

Schatsie - hugs my love..im sure all will be fine. Try not worry to much - know easier said than done...and wow your scan looks ace! Maybe you would feel more comfortable wit hanouther doctor?? it is not to late to change!

Hayley...i plan to go for a 4D scan as well...when is the best time to go? I was thinking around 24 weeks!

Fawhaway - wow so happy taht you are enjoying your job! Congrates on link and just love the name...really beautiful meaning. Pity only found out about free ticket now as was my birthday last week, but will definitly do the after 6pm thing soon (whne we do eventually have a nice day in CT)!

Meags - sorry have not posted pics yet or pics of my last scan...really must get around to it! DH is away this week so I should have time one evening. Europe in Dec! OOOh enjoy the freeze!! I was in scotland/uk/ireland last dec and jan in the middle of all that hectis snow! It was so cold when we were at my mother in law -16!! We had a lovely white xmas, but must admit am looking forward to a warmer one this year. Thank you fo rthe bottle advice. How many would you say if you plan to breast feed? Wow cool on feeling the little one...I cant wait....should be in teh next few weeks.....its liek waiting fro the first 12 weeks to be over...we always seem to be counting down to something! I am teh same when DH calls when he is away (although it is only 5 days a month). I get so excited to hear his voice...but cant really concentrate on what he is saying as i miss him so much...those phone calls are weird, but nice! And re DH...hope the realtionship advisor can help a little. Your DH sounds very simlar to an ex of mine. The thing is I do not think they know how much they upset us or that the way they behave etc is not nice! They are not selfish...maybe just live in there own littel world...BUT he is your husband now and shoudl not be upsetting you espically as you are pregnant! Its funny that your DH says leave baby with nanny...all mine seems to be saying is life will continue as normal. I do not think that he releises how much of an impact the baby will have on our lives! He spends 1workweek a month in Walvis Bay I have never been to Namibia...so the other day he was saying how he wants to spend 2 weeks driving around and visiting all namibia and sa game parks etc...so i said maybe we should do it before baby and he wasno it will be easy with a 4 month old baby...maybe a littel harder when it is 2! LOL can you imagine a 2 week caming / road trip with a 4 month old baby? (or am i the silly one?) Sure he will see all teh work involved when baby arrives. I also do beleive that once the baby is born your DH will be bonding a lot better with it...some men struggle with pregnancy as they feel so left out. But once they can feel and touch the real thing you will hopefully find a new man!

Tazzy - yay tha DH felt kicks!!! OOOh I am so jelous of all you girls taht can feel them....i really cant wait now...

MommyN - yip they have BPa - 0.01ug/ml (whatever that means). They do already have some BPA free products -but not sure when if available yet in sa. I know that we need to take things like this seriously but I am sure we all had BPA bottles as kids and we all still breathing! IN fact I rememeber a glass bottle (used on younger sister)...now taht sounds dangerous to me! But ty fro advice on number of bottles...as i am planning to breastfeed.

Tazzy - Avent bottles are currnetly top of my list...any reasons why you are changing with next baby? Like the avent steamer etc...did you use one? Thinking of the microwave one. and do not worry about blood...comletly normal acourding to my baby books!

well that sure was some catching up....DH is away this week so should have a bit of free time! Still have not told work! Built up courage over weekend to tell boss and then got to work this morning to find out her DH had passed away over weekend! SO guess that is anouther week delay!! MUST MUST MUST do it soon!

And lastly - I am feeling fine....have been using my bio-oil everyday on boobs and bump..should i be using anything else (like happy event?) or is the bio-oil enough?

Also what has everybody bought? My cot and pram shoudl be arriving at the end of this month from overseas....i have bought some clothes...and that is it! I am now stressing a bit! Even phoned my mom in a bit of a panic today as was looking in woolies and edgars and was getting confused over how many blankets and what blankets to buy - they all have differnt names etc! Guess i should get a list! Has anybody got a good one? And by when should all the shopping be finished? I know everybody says wait for afetr babyshower...but by how many months shoul all be in place?? oh gosh you can spy this virgin mom from a mile away!

Well I am off to bed now with my 2 kittys to watch some tv! Meags safe trip to CT...weather has been really crappy last week but from wednesday we looking at high 20's again!

Lucy, i did see your post, thank you for the info... Well im only on CD28 today of a supposedly 32 day cycle... Then i need to start taking my Clomid from CD3 and then a scan on CD12 and then hopefully my Ovidrel shot hopeing around the 2nd week in November, just struggling to find a gynae who is willing to do the Ovidrel, i phoned a couple of gynae's today and most of them of them have no idea what im talking about or they want to send me to Vitalab... Heavens!!!!! And then hubby and i are gonna BD our hearts out like never before... One thing im worried about is Clomid dries me out, so no fertile CM for hubbys swimmers... Oh, well...
