It is unfortunately true. The virus can be passed to the baby if she goes natural.

Hi there

It depends on some things.

Sorry deleted article as it doesn't relate to the birth.

The chance of passing it on is remote and the babies are usually fine so natural birth is often possible.

From what I have read it seems depending on the size of warts etc the doc should monitor her condition but many sites say there isn't too much concern.

Each case is different and I hope your friend can chat to her doc and that they can decide the best way forward together.

Hi there,

I have a pregnant friend who has just found out that she has HPV (human papiloma virus) and her gyni tells her that she will not be able to have a natural birth because of this. She is more upset about not having a natural birth than about finding out about the STD...

Is it true? Does anyone knows what the chances of infection is with natural birth? She had an easy natural birth with her first child 8 years ago (before she contracted the STD) and really wants to go that route again.

I really want to help her as she is, like me, very scared of operations and the risks involved in a c-section.
