file Annual Leave while on Maternity Leave

Slice, as far as I remember the LRA does not put a limit on the number of times a woman can go on maternity leave. But check what your company policy says. I know with us it does not matter ... but logic says to me you will only deliver in the next leave cycle and should be fine!

Which really gets me, is that my boss is really such a nice guy. He is the Financial Director of the company and agrees with me. I showed him everything I could find on the Internet.

But HR (or self appointted HR) seem to think they know the law SOOOOOO well. We in Afrikaans call it "DOM ASTRANT"

We also have a company we use for contractS etc. Labour Advisors. If it comes down to it, I will tell them that we should use the Labour Advisors, and who ever is wrong has to pay the bill - we all know it won't be me!!!!

I am so pissed as I only now realise that I have been completely done in by these people. But I already told them that they won't be that lucky next time round (coming next FEB) as I will have everything in writing.

I am also going to demand Maternity Leave if they do not get someone to do my work while I'm off. Otherwise I will not come back at all.

Last time I worked from home, and now has to deal with crap due to me being paid a salary for Dec while on Maternity Leave, but they took all my annual leave and now I am in a HUGE minus. This all without my consent.

Fortunately, my boss has agreed to give me whatever I want (shame poor man), but my pregnancy hormones seems to SURGE still

We pay a monthly subscription to a company called SEESA who do labour law. When I was on maternity leave they didn't believe me either so I told them to call them up and find out for themselves. They did and they allowed me accumulated annual leave for 4 months - apparently that's the max - even though I took 6 months. They also gave me my 3 days compassionate leave for the year. I insisted on that as the male staff receive it, so why shouldn't I?

Keep us updated!

Urgently need your help please

We all know that according to the Labour Law, Annual Leave should be arrued during Maternity Leave.

Does anyone have anything in writting regarding this?

There seem to be "difficult" people at work who I now have to convince. And I would so like to have the evidence to support this!
