file At what point does baby 'drop' into your pelvis?

Baby was lying to the left today, still low down - it is uncomfortable when she moves, although she's not moving quite as much as she was last week. She made me look lopsided and constantly veering to the left! Was very funny to see!!! I'm loving this stage of my pregnancy!!

Hi Ladies

Here come comments from another paranoid mother to be (well paranoid after reading this thread).

Does anyone know what is the earliest a baby can drop?

I am only 23 weeks along and for the past two days it feels like the baby is very low, pressing against my pelvis. Whereas before all the babies kicks were towards the front of my stomach (near or above my belly button), now all the kicks feel very low, like the baby is kicking against my cervix. I have also had mild stomach cramps for the past two days. Cause for concern or not?

James dropped quite early, so I spent 6 weeks weeing every second, then a week before I went into labour he disengaged (I also leaked colostrum all the time - had to wear breastpads to my SIL wedding) and he only went back down after I had gone into labour again. He arrived a day after my EDD.

Well, I was wondering if perhaps her heading downwards was the cause of the contractions, low blood pressure and vommitting this weekend? I'm not particularly worried, glad the heartburn has lessened though and fewer kicks in my ribs! Kicks are also in line with my navel. She can stay there for now :) At least if she has dropped then she's in the right position :) Will check with dr next week.

Hi Sarah, yes it sound as if your baby has dropped. Mine also dropped at 30 weeks, so for 2 weeks now there is no ribs being kicked. The kicks are about the same hight as my navel.(Spelling hope it is the right word also for nealtjie.)

Have read a lot on the internet, some say for us with second or more this happens just before birth where as other walked till there due date like this.

So I think baby will come when they are due. We must just not overdo it. Especially you must take it slow with your hospital visit. I think if we can just hold them inside till September it will be fine.

It is just that there is no definite answer and it can be rather frustrating.
