Hi Skyler & Ronel,

So sorry to hear that you are struggling so much with Reflux.

Skyler, I would also suggest that you start using Nestargel with the HA formula. That is what I am currently doing with my little girl who is suffering from reflux as well.

Isomil worked for my son who also suffered reflux, but did not help for my little girl.

You can try giving you baby some Gaviscon & Buscopan as well.

If you live in Pta, the is a "voedvrou" who really helped me alot with both my REflux babies. If you want to, I will send you her details via a Private Message. She is Excellant!

Good luck!

Hi Skyler

Zarika is also on losec and these days it seems to make her reflux worse. I am now trying mitilium, it helps do absorp the milk before they get a chance to bring it up as well as ultrasanic which is more like gaviscon to help for the pain when they bring up milk. But to be honest I haven't seen a difference in her reflux. Yesterday I bought nestargel which thinckens her milk. I have heard this help so that they don't bring up the milk. But now I need to buy bigger teats as the milk is not coming through. You also get thick and easy. But if this doesn't work, I do not know anymore. I also hears soya milk helps for the reflux but at this stage I don't want to change her milk. Zarika also screams as if she is in pain, then I give her panado or bascopan.

Good luck!

Hi ladies i really need your help and input as i am close to tears with my son.

Background, he is 12 weeks had reflux from early on, he is on Nan hypoallergenic formula and has been taking losec (in liquid form from chemist) since about 6 weeks.... lately it didnt seem to be working anymore (in the beginning it did) so the doc said i must rather use the tablet form and crush it... plus he doubled the dosage. His reflux used to be majority vomiting and every now and again pain (but not really that bad)

BUT NOW....

ON Friday i started upping his losec as prescribed and also tried anti reflux formula. On Saturday morning he had bad cramps ... in the day which is never, so first i thought it was the new formula so i went back to the nan HA.... so that i can at least see if it was the new formula giving him pain .... The whole of saturday i had to give him colic mix to calm him and stop him being in pain.

So today., sunday.. he was fine this morning then came afternoon okay we were out which made him irritable so we came home he was refusing to sleep and crying so we thought it was cause he was overtired.... then gave him bottle at 3pm and he cried i mean cried through the bottle and then still refused to sleep (i was at shops for this bottle poor hubby was dealing with this) he was vomiting everywhere.... so i got home and rocked him and let him sleep in my arms at about 4pm, then at 5pm he woke up screaming, all of a sudden !!!! like in pain so i put him on my shoulder and he is fine, then i lay him in my arms and he screams, shoulder fine.... which makes me think its the refulx and not cramps..... then he vomits and cries so its defo the reflux.... now DH is feeding him the 7pm bottle and i can hear him moan and a little cry now and again while drinking

I really dont know what is going on the meds have increased so it should be helping.... am now thinking its worse... gonna see tomorrow and then call the doc again i guess

I am just so angry for my son and heartsore i just wanted to cry as the poor boy is in such pain and there is nothing i can do

I just dont understand why its now even worse than before but we have increased the dosage of the medication????

Any advice, did it happen to your baby? tips?

From Cape Town: Little boy (Breyton) due 13 June 2010, delivering at Blaauwberg Netcare :)
