Hi Lillyr,
Atleast it helps knowing you are note alone
To be honest, I don't think its that? My LO went through a bit of a growth spurt a few weeks ago, where she obviously needed to drink more frequently during the night. I'm thinking that those awake times have turned into habit?!
I've read about how to break habitual awakenings, and I'm going to try it tonight.
Your scenario sounds a bit different though? I would think you should try and get her into a nursing routine during the day?! Does she drink everytime she wakes up?
What I've started doing is to offer her water when she wakes the first time, if she doesn't want it, she't not thirsty. And then I just persist until she falls asleep again. Perhaps you can try that? Because we have set times she wakes up, I also read that it helps to slightly wake them an hour before they usually wake up. Just enough for them to fall back to sleep again. This then makes them start a new sleep cycle to "miss" their usual awake time. Makes sense to me? So that's what I'm trying.
I'm a first time mom - was hoping someone already had the answer!
