I use Dynexan. It's an oral anaesthetic ointment and you can use it for cold sores & mouth ulcers.

Just ask your pharmasist if you can use it for your lo.

Have you given her a probiotic with the antibiotics?

Hope she gets better soon.

Hugs

Hi there,
Cold sores are caused by a virus.
Other factors which can bring on the cold sore are :
a cold, or fever.
Exposure to sun or wind, stress and changes in the immune system amoungst others.

I use a cold whole milk compress and apply to area as soon as I feel the tingling. This really works for me because none of the over counter creams seem to work ( for me that is).
None of my girls have ever had so I don't really know what you could use on your lo but you can try the cold milk compress and if she's in pain i guess you could give her some paracetemol or ibuprofen.
They are really painful and I hope she gets better soon!

I have 2 little girls and we living in Hong Kong.

My LG is 20 months and is teething molars! It affected her ears and throat and doc gave a light antibiotic for the infection. She had a bit of a fever but she has had a higher fever before. Now the problem is this:

She has what looks like 3 little sores. 1 on her bottom lip and two just below the lip. What causes this? Neither me or DH ever get cold sores. She is not eating well because of this. It obviously hurts.

What can I put on it to make it clear up? I am very worried about her not eating well. She eats her cereal and yoghurt and still drinks her milk. For the past 3 days thats all she has had.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanx
