Also been giving Leandi something to bind the poo and probiotics. Does help alot, and does prevent the bums from burning too quick.

Doubt that hers is teething aswell, now that its still carrying on :S

Also, my pead told me last time not to give her any vits while she has a tummy bug coz it could make the bug stronger?? Not sure what your take is on this.

Today will be day 4 !

Keep an eye on her tho, cos even tho we, as adults, bounce back pretty quickly, toddlers take a bit longer and their little immune systems do take a knock.

Brandon, at 4, was better within a day of starting the pectrolyte & probiotics.

So basically this is not really something to really worry about.
As long as she does not dehydrate and I give her the probiotics the bug will pass by itself?

I am pretty sure its a stomach bug as myself, my DH and my parents were sick withing the last couple of days.

There is a tummy bug doing the rounds in the Table View area as well, in fact I heard on the radio the other day that it is pretty much all over the country due to the extreme heat we have been experiencing.

Brandon had it a while ago, and as there was no fever or vomitting doc just prescribed Pectrolyte to firm up the poo and Probiotics so sort out stomach bacteria.

Doc also said it was spread by touch, so make sure anyone who attends to LO washes hands properly (and LO to of course, especially if they like to put hands in their mouths)

Just make sure that LO's get plenty of liquid in this weather to prevent dehydration.

Leandi also been having very loose stools (ok more like explosive stools) for the last 2 days. not too often though, maybe 3 times a day at most.

She also eats fine, has no temperature, sleeps well, so im putting this to teething. this is weird for me coz shes never really had teething symptoms before, but as she is cutting her molars now im sure it is this thats bothering her.

Are you still giving Abi dairy products?? Be sure to give her probiotics or Nutriflora, very very important. (I always forget!!) Not sure in which area you are but there is a stomach bug doing the rounds in Jhb :S

Maybe try and sprinkle some Maizina over whatever bum cream you are using to neutralize the acid. see the pharmacy also sells probiotic spray for nappy rash, but havent tried it.

Good luck, im sure its nothing serious!!! Keep us updated pls

Hi Ladies

Please help.

My daughter has been having loose stools for the last week. It was so bad that it burns her bum.
Her poo is yellowish.
The chemist gave her something but this does not seem to work. She is not sick at all, still eats and has no fever.

I am taking her to the doctor tomorrow but would like to know if anyone has an idee why this is happening.

Surely if she had a stomach bug she would've been sick?
