Thanks Misty! Your LG has also been busy :) Did not know we had a few models on Moomie :)

I need to really look at the agencies as well as it seems that you have to sign a contract with them and if they are crap, you cannot join another agency until the contract ends. Kinder & Co is a boutique agency that does a lot of international adverts and I will look into the other 2 you mentioned.

Thanks!

WOW Joli, That's Awsome that your little girl has had such great exposure. I'll definitely look out for her :-)

Nayeela I joined my LG who is now 5 with Starlightz when she was 3months old and she has done Edgars Catalogue at 6months, Foschini Kids, Homechoice and Last week she done her first Ad for Woolworths. I am a working Mom so I do not really go to all the castings, my LG was really lucky to be chosen for Edgars and Homechoice by just seeing her photos and then we done castings for Foschini and Woolworths. It was exactly how Joli described it and with the Wardrobe Fitting they preferred for parents not to hang around as kids work better. With smaller kids they allow the parents to sit around. I prefer to leave her alone when they doing the shoots as we will force that false smile etc....

I am in Cape Town and am considering moving over to KidsInc as my LG is now completely into the modelling thing and I feel she'll get more exposure with them.

Good Luck your little girl is gorgeous I'm sure she'll be very busy!

Kid2000 is the one that has been calling me but they are in bellville and am in Claremont so will have to drive K up and down and think that might be tiring for her not mentioning the costs of petrol that will not be covered for.

I have seen most of the ads you mentioned. Lol! She is a gorgeous girlie! Really liked that scooters pizza one. Too cute!

Thanks for the very detailed explanation.

Kinder & Co just emailed me now! Lol! They also want to set up a meeting. Seems like K might be a little super star soon :)

Will keep you all updated if she eventualy joins one of the agencies.

I prefer not going in. Im way too nervous. They will call you if your child is unhappy. You can always request to go in. They cant refuse.

She's currently in the Twinsavers ad. The girl with the bunny and then the sad face and the furry shoes.

Last year she was in the Scooters ad - the girl with the bumble bee outfit - the dad was wearing a pirate outfit.

She's been in 3 Matrix ads with Os du Randt, Dettol ad, 2 x Telkom ads - the girl that looked up and said WOW and the other one she was on a train.

I think those are the SA ads. The other ads were for overseas companies that were shot here.

Good luck. As long as your child ejoys it, it's worth it. I know that most of the print ads for clothing companies are done in Cape Town. Buy a couple of magazines and check out the agency names in the magazines. I think Kidz2000 is in Cape Town.

Joli - How do you feel about not goign into the room with them? I know that we dont get a choice but are you ever worried that something will go wrong in there or she might not be safe there?

Which ads are your Daughter in? I will keep an eye out for her when I watch tv? I think K will do well in photoshoots (dont know so much about the acting part though) she has done a few professional shoots now and she actually waits until you get the shot before she moves on :) Lol!

Nayeela it's not the agency that can allocate the time slots - some casting directors do - but very seldom. You are allowed at all the castings, but not to go into the room with them. The kids perform better without the parents there.

My eldest has been doing TV ads since she was 3 (she is 7 now). And yes she really enjoys it and she's making some money as well. She's been in nearly 20 ads so far, so she's doing well. Megan - well not yet - I will see if she wants to - but right now I don't think she's got the right 'personality' for it. Maybe when she's a bit older.
