Hi Ladies,

I saw a great idea at the baby show that just passed that was held at Emperors. It was Tan, Brown, gold. Wow i thought those colours really looked great together. Also with that colour scheme, it would be easy to add warm colours that would just blend in nicely. I am not a huge blue fan, so for me this was perfect. ;)

Vamo we did Dylan's room in the garden tales theme when he was 20 months old. I stick with white furniture in his room so that we can add any theme to it at any stage. Soft furnishings are not too expensive compared to furniture. I have a neutral colour blind that goes with the wooden floor.

I am a tad sorry we did it too early though as it was short lived and now he is plane crazy so I should have waited to see what his preference was first.

The good part is that i chose red and white check as the main colour so now I can just add the blue to it with airplanes and we should be set.

the theme is very cute!

But as RM said, im also not one with the furniture, I rather go more simple as it is easier to change when you need to, having said that, you Dino is 19 months and will be in his bed for a few years.

I also love the army theme, camo colours, well not the colours as much as the theme, you can hang that net on his ceiling and do lots of things, I suppose you could also use the net for the sea, use it on the ceiling and paint the ceiling blue (??)

I like the sea theme BUT I love dinosaurs :)

We are doing it for our baba.

My son who is 9 still likes dinosaurs so it is also a lasting theme and if you go with a green or even blue colour scheme you can chop and change!

There are some stunning wall stickers out there with dinosaurs and PnP have the cutest sticker chalkboard things at the moment.

The nice thing is they can come off without too much hassle!

I love the nautical theme for both boys and girls.

The nice thing about is if you stick to flat colours (white or blue or red) and then use nautical accents it can age well.

You might have younger "nautical elements" now, but as he gets older you can remove those and bring in the white washed look and also the "sea decor" elements you can buy at most decorating stores/Mr Price/@ Home - so it works well even on a tight budget.

So you can update the room as he gets older without having to spend huge sums of money on revamping.

I personally am not a fan of theme beds - I think they are great - and possibly my budget is tighter, but I find they do not age well, and in 5 - 8 years you will need to move it out and buy something more age appropriate.

But the nautical bed/racing car bed or what ever theme beds out there is definitely a case of personal taste.

I do like the idea of useing plainer furniture and adding one or two "key pieces" to hold the theme.

Hi Gals :)

I think its about time we discard that cot-bed for my Dino, or is it too early at 19 months?

I have been surfing for different themes and Gals I am hopeless when it comes to decorations that is why I opt for experts each time but I think for my Dinosaur...mommy will do it herself this time :cheer:

I am considering Clever Little Monkey stuff especially the Boat Bed (then add other sea-theme decors), I love it but not sure if my son will love at..lets say...5 years :( I don't want to hear him asking "mommy what were you thinking, I hate my room coz of that silly bed & thanks to you" You know kids of today ;)

His daddy is useless (at least I'm just hopeless but at least I try) all he says is that I can go wild but be willing to take the punches when our son start hating his room PLUS I must know that whatever I decide on will be changed after he is at least 10 years old :woohoo:

So Gals any ideas, do you think theming the room is a good idea or I should just get a simply boy's room furniture which can easily be "played with" anytime?
