TODDLER AND PETS (PUPPY)

My sentiment exactly Gals my Hubby begs to differ though

Its a boerboel (hope its not an offensive name ) . We have taken her to the doctor so vaccination part and de-worming is sorted. Ohhh she's so cute

We still have to come up with a name though, for now we just use "puppy"

Definitely give them some time! If your son is not used to pets in the house it will take a little while, but I'm sure they'll get used to each other in time and the benefits of growing up with pets are endless. You can show your son how to gently stroke the puppy and explain to him that he is a friendly dog. You can also show him how to feed the dog treats from his flat hand. Just be patient with your boy and the puppy and they'll come right

What kind of puppy did you get?

My daughter is growing up together with our two dogs (very naughty ones at that) and she LOVES them to bits. They love her, too, and unfortunately like to show their affection by licking her face *sigh* but I guess what doesn't kill them makes them stronger. I just make sure the doggies' de-worming and vaccination schedule is up to date at all times.

The first thing Lilly does in the morning is to look for the doggies by shouting "woof woof" Priceless!

I believe that all childrens should grow up with pets. I myself was scared to death to my pet when I was small, but in the end was so in love with my pet that my mom struggled sometimes just to get me to go and eat or have my bath, due to me playing with the dog.

Keep the puppy, he will get use, it just takes some time. He just needs to see that all the puppy wants to do is play and will not hurt him.

One morning I fell off my bed and when I woke up I decided to buy my son (21 months old) a PUPPY! Yes a live puppy! We've had this lovely puppy for almost a month now but my son is scared of her.

What has your experiences with toddlers and puppies or pets been like? Should I give him time and hope that he finally 'accepts' her? Or should I give her away? Hubby is sooooo anti-dog. I want my son to have a pet to develop his skills.
