Tygerberg zoo, Cape Town

2km let me know when and maybe a few other moomie moms can join and we can do a moomie meet there. Lets call it a "help support Tygerberg Zoo".

Hi loved it as a child and about 6 yers ago i convince my DH to go and we were shocked at what they charged and then even more shock at the state of the place. All we saw were monkeys and peacocks, and one or two bears. It was such a waste of time and money. But in retrospect, what Julz says is right, the more people that visit it the better they can do. Julz, you have just convinced me to give it a go and take the kids sometime.

It is run down for sure, but the more visitors they have the more money they can spend on the animals.

Sadly still run down and depressing, those poor poor animals!
It used to be so wonderful when I was a child, I wish they would fix it up so I could take my children.

Anyone been to Tygerberg zoo lately? Is it worth taking my toddler or is it still rather run down and depressing?
