Dr Ben Vermaak - Grommets

My daughter is 2year's old and we're with Dr Vermaak. She's getting her 4th set of grommets (this time semi-permanent) tomorrow. I'm very happy with Dr Vermaak..he's not a fan of antibiotics at all (which I love). He's not very talkative so if you have questions make sure to ask all of it during consultations

Grommets really does make a difference. All the fluid that builds up behind the eardrum, can now drain and therefore lessens the ear infections.

I don't have any dealings with Dr. Vermaak, but all I can say is that ou LB never had any problems with his ears after putting grommets in. I really think that it helps them... He still have one sitting in is ear.

Hi Ladies,

Need some advice please.

Zani has been having one ear infection after another. Today the doctor referred us to an ENT - Dr Ben Vermaak in Durbanville for grommets as they now classify her infection as chronic.

This is now our second infection for September only! This is not counting the numerous infections since the beginning of the year.

Has anyone had any experience with this doctor? Would you recommend anyone else?

Do you think having this operation is worth it in the long run?
