mmm...I decided to skip the potty and go straight for the toilet (+ toiletseat and stepstool). I haven't thought of the upside of a traveling potty when making my decision.

Thanks for the advice Julz and LizeP.

I think I will get the pads as you suggested Julz. Hope dischem stocks them.
We will take her toiletseat and stepstool along. When we make stops on the road I will take the toiletseat along to the toilet (but keeping a nappy on while driving).

Luckily the flat we are staying in has tiles and no carpets.
I will turn the single bed mattrasses on their sides in her room and put a waterproof cover on our double bed in our room. I will put thick blankets on the couches in the tv room.

Like you said LizeP, at the beach it isn't such a big deal...

Here's my experience in this regard.
We were potty training for a month when we also went on holiday for 2 weeks to the coast. I put a nappy on During the trip and offered the potty whenever we stopped along the way. I encouraged her use the potty but put a nappy on at night and when going out on day trips.
I didn't want the 4 weeks that we spent potty training before to be for nothing. It went very well and there was only one accident on the floor in the flat.
I think the fact that we spent must of the time outside and on the beach also helped a lot, because a accident in the sea isn't too bad

We live in Krugersdorp

Having a child is much harder than I thought it would be!!

I just took Dylan's potty with and he used it. You might want to get the Dry like me pads which you could use but kids often handle the change well. Stick to the same routine even if you are on holiday if you can.

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.

The last 3 days have been very successful with regards to potty training our LO of 28 months. We have had about a 60% success rate with number ones and two's.

We are going on holiday in 3 days time....

What now?

I have read not to potty train when you are not in your normal routine/environment?

I don't put her nappy on, just cotton briefs at the moment. I am worried that she might have accidents on the couches and beds of the holiday accomodation. I can't put a waterproof cover on every couch/bed in the flat! (We have already had a number one on the single bed in her room...).

Should I just start putting nappies on again when we go on holiday?

Thanks ladies!
