Greenpoint Park Cape Town

Hi Flowergirl, we've been there and have been waiting for that park to open....we are so there on Saturday......i think its perfect and oh so cool....you can picnic there, take rides etc just like you mentioned.

I must tell hubby as he could not wait to take J back again but when the park opened.

I think the park only opened about 2 weeks ago, because 3 weeks ago the new park was still closed as they were still busy....

Hi ladies - if you have not yet been to Greenpoint Park - do yourself (and the kids) a favour and GET THERE!!

We went there yesterday and it is heavenly!! I cannot do it justice here, you have to go and see for yourselves. We unfortunately were too excited to get any pics and I can't find any of the actual play area online. THere are HUGE stretches of grass where you can open up a blanket and unpack a picnic basket, kids can run around, kick a ball around. There are trails where you can walk, ride a bike or rollerblades and then riiiiiiiiight at the back, there is THE most amazing play park I have EVER seen. Really world class!!

It is all free as well. I really, really, really hope that Capetonians do not mess this one up and that the city does its best to keep it in the condition it is currently in. Apparently it has been open for 2 months already - can't believe it took me this long to find.

Best part is when I got home and told DH about it, he says: "yes, I know - we have flown over there a few times to get aerial view pics for the city" Seriously, men!! How do you see this amazing park, have a 1 year old daughter and NOT immediately take her there!!
