Hi

I went through this with my daughter! It's awful. Really stressful time for everyone in the house!

Tissue salts do work really well. Try that. Also we stopped all tv in the evenings. We did bedtime stories instead of tv.

Just remember they don't remember what they were dreaming with night terrors and are usually asleep the entire time they're crying. Don't try and hold her etc - our Pead said to rather just keep saying mommy / daddy is here don't worry etc - Just console with words.

Night terrors usually occur in the first hour the child has fallen asleep. Busy minds can't switch off - hence limiting stimulation from tv etc in the evenings and keeping everything as calm as possible.

Good luck!!

Hi Nicolette, we went through this for a while, nr 1 and 6 tissue salts helps a lot! Try not to wake her up and try to find out what is bothering her while she is awake and talk about it.

night terrors? was created by Nicolette
My three year old daughter is waking up every night crying. She's not consolable, and seems "out of it" - lasts up to 15 minutes, usually shorter, and sometimes she wakes up. She's had nightmares before - but then she tells me what she dreamt (usually about spiders) - I comfort her, and then it's over. It's not like that now. That's why I think this might be night terrors. It is exhausting - for both of us. Does anyone have any experience with night terrors, and does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?
