MissesMom, my point exactly! How can you take 19 small children to a mall/spur whatever & you are only one person????? You can't keep an eye on all of them.

michelle, I totally agree with you. She should NOT just get a fine. She was risking those kids lives in so many ways. It is irresponsible. What do the parents have to say about this?

I would flip out on this lady & the school for that matter. Yes, nothing wrong in doing field trips but you need to have a mini bus or something to transport these children safely & have a few teachers that go along.

If I was one of those parents, if I managed not to kill that women, I would sue her for everything possible. Shows that people REALLY need to do research if they decide to put their child in a creche.

I think I'll just keep mine at home.

from reading all the other articles, it sounds like she left the first group alone in the play area at Spur and went back for the second group because "the school was only 1km away"... personally I think this woman should be charged with 19 counts of child endangerment and a R1500 fine is just pathetic!!

Lets hope that she left the first 12 at the Spur with another teacher/assistent from the school or did she leave them with a "waiter" in the play area?

I saw that this story made world news!! Somebody commented whether if Guinnes book of records was contacted before she was fined!

That was actually her second trip - as I understand it she had already delivered 12 kids on her first trip!
