Nanny Cams

We installed nanny cams for our own peace of mind...

You can get them at Communica (or Electronica - cant remember now but you can google both) in Midrand, and one of the guys there will come after hours to install, although they are fairly easy to install them yourselves.

You dont want them concealed. We told our nanny where they are in every room and that we dont want to see anything on the tapes that might upset us. That way they are aware of them from the beginning and (should) do things your way...

not sure about installing them, but I do remember seeing some at a stall at Hillfox fleamarket (they were concealed cameras in commen objects like speakers.)

I specifically noted them, because there was another topic on moomie a while ago regarding nanny cams.

I dont go there very often, and this was a while ago, so not sure if they are still there, but I'm sure management can give you their number if not?

Morning all!

I am so angry with my Nanny! About 2 weeks ago I got home to find Emily sitting on the couch in the lounge while she was cleaning the bathroom, I told her not to put her on the couch as she could fall off and she must always be able to see her from wherever she is. We have a maid once a week so she is not responsible for cleaning the house thoroughly she only does a daily tidy up so that she can dedicate her time to Emily.

Anyway, the past few weekends we have also battled to get her down for her naps. Since she was 3 months old we have put her in her cot and she has fallen asleep on her own. We have never had any major issues. This weekend suddenly she starts screaming every time we put her down. My husband addressed this with the Nanny this morning who says she rocks Emily to sleep coz she likes it!!! Freak that makes me mad! Since Day 1 we have said no rocking to sleep!

I have started looking for a school for her for later this year or early next year but all the ones I really like will only take her when she is 18 months which is in Jan next year. So I am really stuck with the nanny thing til then.

So now I want to put in nanny cams so I can see what the hell she is up to during the day. Has anyone else done this? Can you recommend somewhere in Jhb that installs them.
