BABY IS A YEAR OLD AND NOT SITTING UP

That boy has been very slow with things like sitting, crawling, walking etc. But he is getting there. The teachers at his creche work with him and try and help him with some exercises and stuff and gradually he is achieving the stuff.

My friend's daughter finally started walking just before her second birthday.

Physio will help a lot if low muscle tone is the only problem.

thanks so much. we in the begining did take her for physio and then it was suggested we stopped it until we found a diagnosis.

you are correct she has got low muscle tone(hypotonia).

We have a appointment coming up in April and hope to get some more help and take it from there.

15months ? and then the baby in your sons class started to sit?

It sounds to me like she has very low muscle tone.
I'm surprised that if you've taken her to doctors that they have not referred her for physio.

There was a boy in my son's class at creche that was very similar. He only started sitting a the same time as my son (my son was 7 months, he was already 15 months).

My friend's daughter was born 2 months prem and struggled with sitting and walking and stuff. They took her to a physio that specialises in children and it has done wonders.

If your child does have low muscle tone you really need to try and get her some sort of professional help to strengthen those core muscles. I would strongly suggest a physiotherapist that specialises in that sort of thing. Perhaps speak to your paediatrician for a referral.

HI ALL MY BABY IS NOW 13MONTHS AND SHE IS NOT SITTING UP AT ALL. LAST YEAR WAS TERRIBLE AS WE WERE IN AND OUT OF HOSPITALS AS TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS AND IS STILL WRONG WITH HER. AFTER EVERYTHING SOME DOCTORS HAVE SAID SHE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO WALK OR CRAWL ETC. HOWEVER SHE HAS MADE BIG PROGRESS SINCE THEN BUT IS STILL VERY FAR BEHIND IN HER MILESTONES.
ID JUST LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYBODY OUT THERE THAT HAS HAD OR BEEN IN THIS POSITION BEFORE?
ITS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME AS I STRUGGLED TO FALL PREGNANT FOR MORE THAN A YEAR AND I HAD ENDOMETRIOSIS.
PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN HELP OR ADVISE IT WOULD BE AWESOME.
